Edgar Hoover Building The only agents left in the large government building besides security were Mulder and Scully, who were desperately trying to finish up a case report for their meeting with Skinner the next morning. "Could you hand me the travel expense forms, Mulder?" Scully asked from across the office. Her partner looks up, then tossed her a packet of papers. Mulder's quip about there being no room in the office for two desks was close. There was about a three foot space between them, just far enough for Mulder to annoy her with paper airplanes. After another half hour of filling out forms and writing summaries, Mulder started to get restless. They had been working continuously since about 4:30, when their plane had gotten back from their last case. It was one of the strangest in a long time. There had been a small town in Michigan with acid rain potent enough to burn a person's skin. they had originally thought that the mutilated corpses were the product of a local cult, but the case was solved as soon as it started raining. Yet another ruined Armani suit. "Hey Scully, I'm going to grab something out of the vending machine, you want anything?" he stood up. Blue eyes locked with his, and she smiled. "Now that you mention, I've been dying for some peanut butter M&M's all day." "Okay." he left, and in about 15 minutes, he returned, with a smile on his face. "Scully, you gotta see this." She looked up from her computer, curious. "What is it?" "Come on." he said, sounding like he was 8. Scully sighed and saved her work. Mulder came up to her, and took both her hands. Scully didn't make too much of a note of it. Mulder and her had been much closer since her cancer had gone into remission. Not that she minded all the touches. He led her up to the second, floor and stopped in front of a half open door. "Ladies first." the agent grinned, bowing. Scully just shook her head and walked inside. What she saw was a medium sized room, dominated by what looked like a brand-new pool table. On one wall there was a rack of pool cues and other assorted items. "You want to play pool?" she said, questioning. He nodded and smiled. "I think we need a break from all the paperwork. I swear, I'm going to see expense reports in my dreams pretty soon here." "I don't think this is such a good idea..." she trailed off. "Oh come on Scully, I won't beat you too bad." he said, teasingly. Scully plucked a cue off the wall, and looked at him over her shoulder. "And who says that you're going to beat me?" Mulder said nothing, just raised an eyebrow. They racked up the balls and looked at each other. "Would like the master show you how to break?" Scully asked sweetly. He just shot her a look as he leaned over the table and hit the cue ball. There was an explosion of motion and he sank two stripes. He looked up at her, and was surprised to see a small expression of amusement on her face. "What?" he asked, unsure of himself. "Would you care to place a wager on this game?" she asked, candidly. Mulder just looked at her in surprise. She had to have something up her slave. "Okay, what?" "Well, I'm not sure." she said slowly, still smiling. "If I win, you have to sit with me and watch the Alien Autopsy video, and not point all the inaccuracies in it." She nodded. "Okay. And if I win, you either have to cut out all your little innuendoes, or make good on them." He nodded slowly. "You're on." X=X=X=X Scully won the toss and broke, sending two stripes into the corner pockets. Mulder said nothing, just nodded. She missed on her next shot and he stepped up. Three solids were racked up before Scully could blink. Maybe she had underestimated her partner. She thought for a moment, and then got an idea. She looked up at Mulder, who was just leaning over the table to take a shot. "So Mulder, seen Bambi recently?" she asked innocently. Her plan worked. Her partner looked up at her, shocked. The result was that his shot went horribly wide and he scratched. Mulder had a sinking feeling that he'd been duped. "Hey.." Scully just grinned and leaned down to take her shot. The score was tied at four apiece. Fox thought, and decided two could play at this game. "So, I was thinking of getting a tattoo.. could you suggest something?" His ploy worked too. Scully slipped on just barely hit to cue ball. She glared at her partner, who was smirking at her. "All's fair in love and war." he said simply. He was going to get it now. X=X=X=X They were tied again, with just a ball each and the eight ball. Both agents had been teasing each other unmercifully, and having a great time. It was Scully's shot again, and it was totally clear. Mulder leaned over her, as she stretched to get the shot. He planted his hands on either side her body, smiling. Scully couldn't say that she didn't enjoy having her very handsome partner so close, but his hot breath on her neck has totally wrecking her concentration. She elbowed him in the side. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?" she growled, trying to focus. He nuzzled her neck slowly. "Me? I would never doing anything that sneaky or underhanded." That was it, Scully simply could not think with the object of too many of her dreams right behind her. She tried to take the shot and missed so badly that Mulder had to laugh. "Go head and laugh it up now, but you're going down." Scully said, putting her hand on her hip. She watched her partner circle the table, looking for a shot. As he went to take it, she put her foot up on the table, and proceeded to fix her nylons. Mulder watched, transfixed as his normally sedate partner acting in a decidedly *unproffesional* manner. He tried to shake it off, and leaned down for the shot. It was decent, and the ten striped ball slowly rolled to a stop just in front of the corner pocket. Mulder glared at his partner, then laughed at her expression of feigned innocence. "Now that was sneaky." Scully pretended to look surprised. "Why, Fox how could I have made you miss your shot?" she said sweetly. He just shook his head. Scully quickly took her next shot before Mulder could distract her. The ball fell into the pocket with a thud. All she had to do was sink the eight ball. She walked to the end of the table where her partner was standing, chalking her cue. Dana was wondering what was going through his head right now. She stretched over the table and steeled herself against what inevitable trick her partner would pull. Scully lined up her shot as she felt Mulder's hands sweep up her sides. She nearly slipped in shock, but regained her cool. One hand curled around her waist as the other swept through her hair softly. Mulder was doing his best to distract her, but it wasn't working. He decided to pull out all the stops. Stepping closer, he leaned into her and brushed the sensitive spot behind her ear with his lips. It took all of her concentration just to make the shot, but Scully did. Her aim was perfect and the eight ball dropped in. She turned to her partner, who was still standing only inches behind her. He had an adorable pout on his face. "I win." she said sweetly, looking up at him, and trying not dwell on the fact that he still had his arms around her. "Well, I guess I'll just have to make good on my innuendoes, then." he smiled, with an intense look in his eyes. Scully could only stare at him as his face lowered to hers, and he kissed her firmly on the lips. And then she realized something: She really did like the taste of sunflower seeds. X=X=X=X "Come on, Kimberly, it's just at the end of this hall." Victoria, another secretary said as they walked down the dim corridor. "When did Skinner put this in?" the blonde asked. She and her friend had come back to the Building after they realize they had left their purses. Then she saw light from under the door. "Who's in there?" "Oh, probably just the janitor or something." the brunette answered easily. She pushed open the door and was amazed by what she saw. Spooky and the Ice Queen outside of their basement office. And if that wasn't enough, they were locked in one of the most passionate kisses she'd seen in awhile. Kimberly gasped, and they both looked up. "I told you! Now you owe me fifty bucks!" Victoria cheered, looking at her friend. Mulder and Scully just looked at both of them, surprised. Kimberly finally regained her voice. "I can't wait to see the look on Skinner's face. He must have had two hundred dollars in the pool!" Scully looked at Mulder, and they both thought the same thing. "We had a pool?" The two secretaries then left, their fingers itching to dial everyone and collect their money. The partners left soon after. As Mulder walked Scully out to her car, he smiled down at her. "You know, this is much better than watching that damn video again." Scully smiled back at him. "I would have to agree."
