Damn he was late. Not knowing why Scully had decided to invite Mulder
to her Christmas dinner with her mother and brother. After being away
for about five years Scully's mother had decided not to leave her son
alone until he agreed to go to the Christmas dinner this year. Her son
had been distancing himself from the family just like Dana had. Only
Dana wasn't doing it intentionally. Bill, jr. had this idea in his
head that once a person grows up and becomes an adult he must then
separate himself and go his own way. For some reason Melissa was the
same way. Melissa had run off and traveled along the west coast for
four years. Doing this because she felt she had to go her own way.
When Mulder pulled up into the drive of Mrs. Scully's house, Dana came
running out of the house covered with baking powder. She came to a
sudden stop about two feet in front of Mulder.

"Where have you been???" Scully asked with a worried expression.

"Sorry, I was just slow in getting ready."

Scully just stood there for a couple of seconds giving him her
patented annoyed look.

"well at least your one of the few people mom knows that actually
shows up for our Christmas dinner. Lets go in. Dinner will be ready
soon."

Half way up the walk to the house Mrs. Scully was delighted to see her
daughter and partner holding hands like a couple. It had been one of
Mrs. scully's long-term wishes for her daughter and her partner to get
involved. Not that it was her business really, but she could tell that
Fox was the perfect person for her daughter. She knew that the two of
them would never admit it any time soon, but even still she didn't
give up hope in that.

When they reached the top of the steps, Mrs. Scully greeted Mulder
with a half-Hearted smile.

"Hi Mrs. Scully."

Mrs. Scully grinned at him.

"Hello Fox."

Mulder was beginning to get that feeling. Uh oh she's up to something
or she knows something. Scully was immediately blushing and Margaret
began to laugh at the sight of it.

"Sweety, what's wrong?"

With a ridiculous smirk she answered,

"Nothing. Lets go eat."

Scully was practically straining herself to keep from laughing at the
sight of that stupid grin her mother had given Mulder. Mulder was
walking in with her looking at her as if he had just seen the scariest
thing in the world. He was thinking, wow! Scully really has the
ability to laugh like a normal person. Thank God I'm only thinking
this, cause God knows what Scully would do to me if she heard me say
something like that.

Inside Bill, Jr. and his wife Tara were sitting there with their
newborn child. Both Mulder and Bill's smiles were gone at the sight of
each other. They were both giving each other "I hate you" looks.
scully looked back to see the two of them staring at each other with
hatred. Scully walked right beside Mulder.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing lets go eat."

"No seriously Mulder, why can't you and my brother get along?? The two
of you always start something when your around each other?"

"How do you know that?"

"What????? You don't think I know what had happened between the two of
you outside my hospital room when I was being treated for my cancer??
I heard you two out there arguing."

Mulder didn't answer. He just looked at her with a kind of
disappointment in his eyes. He, more than anyone, had not wanted her
to know what happened out there in the hallway of the hospital between
him and Bill.

On the way to the table Bill passed Mulder with an ugly expression on
his face. He wished to God that Mulder wouldn't be a part of his
sister's life, but it was too late cause he already was. He WAS
Scully's life now. The two of them had gotten so close to each other
in the past few months. They both had even started spending off-work
time together. Dinner, Movies, etc.

Dinner was consistently made of Turkey, Dressing, and then some
Christmas tree-shaped sugar cookies for dessert.

After Dinner Mulder and Scully were sitting in front of the fire on
the floor leaning against the sofa. He was leaning against the sofa
while she was sitting in between his legs resting her back against his
chest. He had his arm draped across her to her shoulder. They were
just sitting there staring into the fire until Mrs. Scully came into
the room. When Dana saw her mother looking down at her she immediately
jumped away from Mulder to the other side of the couch with a blush
over her entire face staring up at he mother looking like a lost
little puppydog except for the guilty grin that spread across her
face.

"Sorry Dana, Um... Fox if you would like to, we have an extra room and
you would be more than welcome to spend the night here."

Mulder turned to look at Scully. Her response was a gestured smile.

"OK. That would great. Thanks Mrs. Scully."

"Dana will show you the extra room Fox. I'm going to bed. Goodnight
you two."

"Thanks Mrs. Scully. 'night."

"'Night mom."

"Goodnight sweetheart."

Mrs. Scully gave her daughter a brief hug then went upstairs to her
room.

"come on 'FOX'" she said sarcastically.

"Wait Scully."

"what's..." before she could finish Mulder had drawn her into a deep
passionate kiss. The kiss lasted for about a minute. then they both
stood there looking at each other.

"What was that all about Mulder??" She looked at him still drugged
with passion. His response was looking up next to the ceiling fan. Up
there hanging on a small red string was a mistletoe. Then she looked
back at him to find him smiling at her.

"Merry Christmas, Scully." Then he kissed her again and this time she
took the kiss a lot better and smoother than the last kiss. They stood
there kissing for a couple of minutes until Scully saw her brother
coming around the corner and she quickly released the kiss.

"what's wrong Scully??"

"This is just a little sudden for me. I think we better go upstairs
and talk first before jumping to anything else or doing something
we'll regret."

"You regret this????"

"No not at all. I just don't want to start anything until I'm sure of
what I'm doing."

He nodded in response and they both went upstairs before her brother
turned his head to the spot where they were standing kissing a minute
ago.

They both went to the guest room where Mulder was going to be staying.
"Mulder, we've been partners for how long? what.... five years now.
We've been best friends all along this time...."

"What are you trying to say??"

"Do you ever wonder what it would be like if we were more than
friends???"

"The last time we talked about this you said it would be too dangerous
to start a relationship. Besides I wouldn't want to risk our
friendship over something like that."

"who says we'd be risking our friendship? Lots of people have tried
higher relationships than friend ship and ended with it not working.
They went right back to being just friends. I think if we tried we
could do the same if it doesn't work. God I feel like a teenager
again."

Mulder moved close to Scully. All the way looking her directly in the
eye. She finished closing the space between them and kissed deeply in
an instant. They stayed there on the bed kissing passionately. After
about ten minutes of them just laying there kissing and feeling each
other

scully ended up breaking the kiss and getting up. She went to the
other side of the room and closed the door then locked it. She came
back to the bed the bed and got back on top of Mulder then they
started making love again. Slowly they began removing each other's
clothing starting with their shirts. Scully began unbuttoning Mulder's
flannel shirt while he began to unbutton her blouse. After that he
began to fumble with the front clasp of her bra while she began to
unbuckle his. Before she could finish he stopped her then looked up to
her.

"Are you sure you want to do this Dana.?"

"Mulder, I am more sure about this than I have ever been about
anything else."

At the sight of him hearing that he immediately kissed her then
continued with her bra releasing the clasp and throwing the bra to the
floor at the same time her taking the rest of his pants off. the pants
soon joined her bra and shirt on the floor. He smoothly ran his hands
over her breasts. When he ran them over her nipples she gave out a
small sigh then smiled at him. She then began to remove his boxers as
he pulled down her skirt and underwear. He flipped them both over so
he was on top. Then he slowly began to leave a trail of kisses down
her breasts, stomach, in between her thighs and then a little further.
Upon hitting her right between her legs, Dana gave a sigh and arched
her back. She gave off a little whimper as he trailed his tongue back
up to her and kissed her. Licking her lips she began to moved
impatiently.

"Fox, please." She said as she opened up her thighs almost begging.

Mulder looked her in the eyes smiling then kissed her and entered her
in one slow, strong movement. Finally joined, they began a slow
movement together in a circular pattern. they slowly kissed and
caressed each other as there climax began to build up. There breathing
began to speed up and they started moving faster and harder together.
They cried out together in passions as their orgasms hit. Lasting for
about three minutes they moaned together and roughly kissed each
other. After their orgasms passed their breathing slowly returned to
normal. Mulder then turned them over and Scully collapsed on top of
him exhausted. Mulder looked up at her smiling.... "I love you,
Scully"

Scully just looked at him smiling.

"I love you, too." They both just laid there and eventually found
sleep in each others arms.
