'Seed?' Dana Scully's thoughts were interrupted by
a small bag of sunflower seeds being mercilessly shoved
under her nose.

'No thanks, Mulder. I've about had my limit for the
year. I swear, since we've been partners, I've eaten more
seeds than the pigeons out of my window in their whole
lifetimes,' she sighed and pushed the bag away. Mulder
smiled in the dark cloak of night.

Here they were, *another* stakeout. And, once
again, nothing was happening--with the suspect or the pair
of agents staking him out.

Absentmindedly, Scully reached over and turned
on the car radio.

"Yes, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the
grey. The more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah.
And now that your rose is in bloom, a light hits the gloom
on the grey..." {Seal}

'Darnit, I love that song,' Scully sounded disappionted
as the song drew to a close.

'That's something I agree with you on, Scully. Batman
Forever was *the* best movie. Jim Carrey was awesome.'

'I didn't know that song was from Batman Forever.
Besides, everyone likes Jim Carrey."

	Mulder feigned a shocked expression...she didn't know
that song was from Batman? Oh well. 'My turn.'

	'For what?'

'To choose a song,' Mulder said pointedly.

'Wait a minute. That one was almost over.' Scully argued,
if only for something to do.

'Okay, fine. But then I get two songs afterwards.'

	'Mul--'

'Better hurry, Scully. Commercials are about over...'
Scully stabbed the 'seek' button with her finger and browsed
through the radio stations. Finally, she stopped at a good song.

"To really love a woman, you got to know her deep
inside. Hear every thought, see every dream, give her wings
if she wants to fly. And when you find yourself lyin' helpless
in her arms, you know you really love a woman. If you love a
woman, tell her that she's really wanted. If you love a woman,
tell her that she's the one. 'Cause she needs somebody to tell
her that its gonna last forever. So tell, me have you really--really,
really ever loved a woman....To really love a woman, you gotta
hold her, till ya know how she needs to be touched. You gotta
breathe her, really taste her. Till you can feel her in your blood.
And when you see your unborn children in her eyes, you know
you really love a woman. If you love a woman, tell her that she's
really wanted. If you love a woman, tell her that she's the one.
'Cause she needs somebody to tell her that you'll always be
together, so tell me, have you ever really--really, really ever loved
a woman. You've got to give her some faith, hold her tight, oh,
it'll turn out nice, ya gotta treat her right. She will be there for
you, taking good care of you. You really gotta love a woman..."
{Brian Adams}

'My turn,' Mulder hurriedly reached for the 'seek' button.

'Mulder, what's wrong with Brian Adams?' Scully asked
skeptically.

'Nothing. That song's just a *little* too mushy for my
taste.' he responded, taking great interest in the radio before him.

'Mushy??' she repeated increduously. She didn't push
it, though.

	'Aahh...Hootie and the Blowfish.'

"She sits alone by a lamppost. Tryin' to find a though
that's a escaped her mind. She says ???'s the one she loves
the most, says death's (?) not far behind. She never lets me in,
only tells me where she's been when she's had to much to drink.
I say that I don't care. I just run my hands through her dark hair
and I pray to God, you gotta help me fly away. And just let her cry,
if the tears fall down like rain. Let her sing, if it eases all her pain.

Let her go, let her walk right out on me. And if the sun comes up
tomorrow, let it rain. Let it rain. This morning I woke up alone,
found a note standing by the phone, sayin' 'Baby, maybe I'll be
back someday.' I wanted to look for you. You walked in, I didn't
notice what I should do, so I sat back down and had a beer and felt
sorry for myself, sayin' let her cry, if the tears fall down like rain.
Let her sing, if it eases all her pain. Let her go, let her walk right
out on me. And if the sun comes tomorrow, let it rain. Let it
rain...{too tired to remember the rest--Hootie
and the Blowfish}

'So, what. This guy's girlfriend is a druggie and her
doesn't know what to do about it?' Scully inquires.

'Yeah, something like that.' Mulder responds. He
started fooling with the dial again.

	"He's a ???, he's a god, he's a man, he's a gu-ru...
designed and constructed by his Red Right Hand..."

	'Mulder, turn that off!!'

He quickly shut the radio down completely. 'Why?'
He looked over to Scully, who looked positively horrified. She
was breathing heavily, trying to gain control.

'In the trunk...Duane Barry...that song...' she gasped.

*Shit* 'Sorry, Scully. Oh, God. I'm so sorry.'

'I'm okay, Mulder. Besides, its not you fault.' she said.

'If I hadn't insisted on that second song--'

'I would've found it.' she finished. 'I'm, really, its okay.'

They sat in silence for a while, until both were sure the
song would be over. It was Scully who clicked the radio on
again. "And now, for all of those couples on a Starry Stakeout,
here's Pebo Bryson and Regina Bell with Aladdin's 'A Whole
New World'...

"I can show you the world. Shining, shimmering,
splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your
heart decide? I can open your eyes," Mulder looked over at
Scully, who was staring out the moonroof at the stars, "take
you wonder by wonder. Over, sideways and under, on a magic
carpet ride. A whole new world. A new, fantastic point of view.
No one to tell us no, or where to go. Or say we're only dreaming.

"A whole new world. A dazzling place I never knew.
But now from way up here, its crystal clear, that now I'm in a
while new world with you. Unbelievable sight. Indescribable
feeling. Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling through an endless
diamond sky. A whole new world.

Don't you dare close your eyes A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath, it gets better

I'm like a shooting star, I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to
be.
A whole new world, with new horizons to persue

I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare

Let me share this whole new world with you.

A whole new world. A new fantastic point of view. No
one to tell us no, or where to go, or say we're only dreaming.

A whole new world Every time a surprise
With new horizons to persue Every moment red-letter.

I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare. Let me
share this whole new world with you.

					A whole new world
A whole new world That's where we'll be
Where we will be A thrilling chace
A wondrous place

	For you and me."  {Pebo Bryson and Regina Bell}

Well, that's it from me for now. I'm hoping the Duane Barrey thing
wasn't in too much bad taste.

I might do another one later, but school prevents me from doing
any large stories. I am sort of working on a sequal to "Fire", (I have
12 pages and severe writer's block) so I might post that one sometime.
Comments, flames, whatever can be sent to 71461,1434@compuserve.com.
Thanks for reading!
