Title - Raging Tempest
Authour - Jadar Allyna
E-mail address - Insurance_Broker@compuserve.com (woo hoo)
Distribution - If you really WANT it . . .
Spoilers - None. The mood might make more sense if you've seen Memento
Mori, but it's not needed.
Category - P
Rated - G (Forgive me, fellow shippers, I have sinned . . . no MSR! *half
the list falls to the ground in a faint*)
Summary - Possible Scully thoughts during a thunder storm.
Disclaimer - Even though no one's mentioned, M&S aren't mine. All hail
mighty CC, Fox, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, right, whatever.

I'm working on a Dion File, REALLY, because, like Jeannine said, if I don't
get them out soon, people will stop caring. If they haven't already.
*sigh* I only got one reply to Make You Happy, other than from my faithful
Sweet Almond. Thank you, Sophia and Sarah! I have now pledged to write
every authour of anything I read. Oh, well. Here's something else for you
all. If anyone knows me, this will clearly reveal my "true identity"
*snicker* because it was one of my pieces for my grade 9 class anthology
(along with my monster of a swimming poem). This was originally a
narrative, so I just broke up the lines. I was going to edit it some more,
but I knew I'd lose the momentum to post it. It just made me think of
Scully.

Dedication - For everyone who's ever watched a Prairie thunderstorm.

At first there is silence
   in the darkness
like the Earth is holding It's breath
A single drop
   a clear, sharp note
that echoes through the still air
The sound of the first drop grows
   louder and louder
   until it fills every space
and drums out a rhythm in my brain
Then the wind comes
   roaring through the trees
defying everything and answering to no one
In it's fury
it hits the rain and takes it on a mad dance
   swirling through the darkness
A flash of lightning
a prelude to the uncontrollable outburst that is building
After a seemingly infinite wait
   thunder crashes
The sky is pounding out the song of it's rage
It is scorned by the world below
   quietly drinking up the rain
   in it's own accepting way
unaffected as always by the chaos beating down apon it
The storm snarls at the cool ground's indifference
hurling the rain down to it
with all the strength it possesses
The storm's anger is my anger
as meaningless to the cold, unmoving earth
as I am to my world
Shrieking in helplessness
it throws out it's final and greatest effort
   yet the ground mocks it
   even in all it's glory
In bitter defeat
it fades away to the steady teardrops of it's failure
hating the uncaring world as I do
but hating itself more for giving in to it's weakness
The Earth goes on turning
as It always has and always will
regardless of whether the storm and I remain or not.
