Okay that last post was a mess. Here's a revised version of what I think really happened in the hospital in Biogensis. ============================================== Scully marched into the hospital room to find, to her disgust, the slippery Diana Fowley. "Thank you for coming," Diana said in her calculated benevolent voice. "He was asking for you all last night." Scully masked her shock as she walked towards the TVs and began to frantically search for her partner. She knew he was in trouble. She just *knew.* "...Scully, it's me Mulder," a faint voice whispered. "You shouldn't be in here," the doctor called out behind her. "...Why you butcher?" the voice inside Scully's head snarled. "Are you afraid she'll figure it out. Come on Scully, ...figure it out. I helped you find the missing professor, didn't I?" Scully began to question the doctor, ignoring the voice. "What's wrong with him? That man, Fox Mulder." Her fears began to mount as she wondered whether Mulder had gone schizophrenic, something she considered to be inevitable, however she was surprised to see it happen so... "AAARRRHHHHHH!" Mulder screamed and stormed to the camera. Scully's looked down at her crazed partner as he glared back at her. "...God Damn it Scully!" the voice barked. "I'm not fucking crazy! She locked me up in here as soon as she knew! Why can't you, for once, believe me." A faint perplexed look registered on Scully's face as she looked at Mulder's flickering image. She turned back to the doctor. "We don't know what to do with him," the doctor said. "He has extremely abnormal brain function, but there's no sign of stroke. No. We're waiting to run some test. He's extremely violent. With what we've given him, he should be in a barbituric comma. There's activity in the brain we've never seen before." "...See?" the voice echoed like a song stuck in her head. "You gotta help me Scully. I can't get out here. You have to find it. They won't suspect you." "I want to talk to him," she demanded. "No," the doctor refused. "He's extremely dangerous to anyone." "...It's a lie Scully." "Not to me, he's not," she said. "...They're all lying to you Scully. Don't trust them." A tense moment passed. Scully glanced at Diana. Diane glanced at her. Skinner glanced at them both. "...She's trying to divide us Scully and Skinner... I'm not sure about him. I get mixed messages" Skinner shifted uncomfortably in the silence. "Can we speak in hall?" "...They're afraid of me Scully. They know what I can do. I see through their lies. Why do you think he wants you step outside? Because I might hear?" Scully winced and shook off the voice as she started towards the door. "SSUUULLLYYY!!!" Mulder's roaring scream brust out from the tv monitor. Scully's eyes snapped towards the television in shock. "How did he know I'm here?" she wondered. The voice's anger faded into a whimper. "...Please hear me Scully. I'm afraid. I don't know how to control it. It's too much. I hear too much." He looked so small to her then, like a frightened lost little boy. "Telepathy?" she thought as she gazed down at him. She could feel his relief as if it had been her own. "...You read my mind," the voice smiled, filling her with warm affection. "...Guess we can throw out those cell phones, huh?" "This is not possible," she thought. "...Yes it is possible! The God module, Scully. Just like Gibson," his silent words spoke to her. "But I'm older than he is and...," Mulder's voice paused. "Listen you got to find it, before they do. I don't where this is leading, but if it's a powerful as I think it is, we have to find it before they do. Go to the Ivory Coast. Here..., I know where it is." Scully could feel the directions being downloaded into her. "I must be going crazy too," she thought. "...No, you're not. You're not hallucinating. I can prove it. Skinner has us under surveillance. Look in the fire detector in my office." "My office?" she wondered. "My office? You're right, I'm not hallucinating. Any hallucination of mine wouldn't paint you as being so arrogant, Mulder." "...Please Scully." Skinner coughed loudly at the door. "Agent Scully, step outside," he again motioned for her to follow him. "...Go find it," the voice paused for a moment, reading her thoughts once more. "Scully, I didn't call Diane, I called you." THE END ---------------------------------------------- Well? What do you think? Is that better? B.Black ------ Scully- "Subconscious, my ass. The incubus was a scapegoat created in a repressed age to rationalize the nature of wet dreams." Mulder- "I love it when you talk dirty." THE CONFESSION OF SIRIUS http://www.geocities.com/area51/dimension/4219
