She waved her hand absently without looking up from the file she was currently engrossed in reading. "Fine, Mulder," she murmured. He grinned and rubbed his hand over his mouth to squelch the laughter. "What's your favorite position?" From his partner came a distracted, "Um-hm." "Because I'm partial to you on top. Would you like that, Scully?" A noncommittal grunt. "Yeah, you on top, that's the best. You, with your legs spread, sitting above me, both of us naked and moaning..." He raised an eyebrow as he noticed she still wasn't paying attention, and decided he could go a little futher and tempt fate. "Me, laying there helpless on your bed, completely at your mercy, seeing your whole body, feeling you against me as I rise just slightly and you lower your body down and take... all... of...me...in..." She twitched and raised her eyes to him. "Did you say something, Mulder?" He put on his best innocent-bystander-look. "Who, me? Nope." She sighed and took off her glasses, placing them on the desk. She stretched, flexing her aching back, groaning as she did so. "God, I hate this background work." He nodded solemnly. "Yes, but it needs to be done," he intoned practically. Scully paused mid-stretch and frowned. "What is with you today?" "Who, me?" "Yeah, you. You're acting strangely." "As compared to what?" She chuckled lightly. "You just seem so... relaxed. You're not on a tear about this new case or ruminating on one of your crackpot --no offense-- theories. I don't know, you just seem... happy." "None taken, and yes, I am happy." "Why?" "Because I realized something this morning." "What did you realize?" "Can't tell you." "Sure you can." "No, I can't." "Why?" "Because it involves you." "What!" Mulder grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. Scully slumped down in her seat and glared at him. "You can't do that." "Do what?" "You can't say you realized something that involves me and then not tell me." "Why not?" "Because it's cruel." "I can be cruel if I want to be cruel." "No, you can't." "Yes, I can." "No, you can't! "Yes, I can!" "Mulder, you couldn't be deliberately cruel to me any more than I could say, Why yes, Agent Mulder, you are absolutely correct, I don't know what I was thinking when I let rational science try to explain--" "Okay, let me amend it to I don't *want* to tell you." She snorted and rolled her eyes. "Fine. Whatever." She put her glasses back on and picked up the file to continue reading. After a few minutes, Mulder said in a conciliatory voice, "It's not a bad thing, you know." "Mulder, just drop it." "It's wonderful, in fact. At least for me. It's not every day that such a revelation comes about." "Shut up, Mulder." Silence ensued for several more minutes. "Do you really want to know, Scully?" "Leave me alone, Mulder." "Because if you do, I'll tell you." "Okay, fine. Tell me." "Are you sure?" Scully threw the file at him and stormed out of the office with a shriek of frustration and disgust. Mulder watched her go, a huge smile on his lips. "She loves me." The End XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
