I'm sorry, his tongue said, as it slipped its warm, wet
way into her mouth. The slick muscle glided over her own
tongue and took a detour over her teeth. She tasted of
butter pecan ice cream and coffee. Perhaps even a taste
that was uniquely her own.

His tongue worked its way around her lips and quickly
disappeared back in her mouth.

My sincerest apologies, he said with fingers, as they caressed
rigid nipples and soft, pliant flesh. With those fingers he
pinched, then soothed. Small twists of skin followed by brief
massages. Long, heavy hands working their way up and down her
sides lovingly and with reverence.

There's no excuse for what I did, he said with the driving
force of his steel cock as it worked its way in and out of
her body. A body that was her temple, but one he worshipped
like a deity.

It was in moments like these, she felt blessed and loved. He
made her feel like something more than a woman. He made her
feel like a goddess.

She felt beautiful and ancient. She was someone to be treated
with nothing less than adoration and respect. The stars would
shine and the heavens would weep out of pure joy if given
a glimpse of her affection.

Artists would want to sculpt her and poets would write about her.
Shakespeare's most glorious words could not compare to what he
made her feel.

With his eyes -- oh God, his eyes -- she saw these things and
so much more.

When they made love, she could see all that he saw in her. She
was his companion, his lover, his partner, and his princess.

She was his Scully.

She belonged to him and he belonged to her.

Writhing together in the oldest of dances, their bodies slid
over each other building, building, building toward release.
Slick flesh, soaked with sweat, rubbed deliciously together
creating the ultimate friction.

The lower halves of their bodies grinded with a syncopation
that would have made the greatest of musicians jealous. It
was an incomparable rhythm only they could have created.

Them and only them.

Heavy breathing and an occasional gasp were the only sounds
that were made for fear anything louder would break the spell
that had been so magically woven together for them that night.

Then, with a quick swipe of her clit, she orgasmed sweetly,
pulling him with her into the near drowning sensation of
pleasure. Her womb was filled with his warmth as her body
pulsed uncontrollably around his penis. Her burning face
began to cool quickly as the blood continued to rush through
her ears, leaving her deaf to everything except the beating
of her own heart.

Her small hands stroked her lover's shoulders as he slid
his head to the middle of her chest. He carefully laid
his right ear on her sternum so he could also listen to
her heart.

"What does it say?" she asked.

"It says that it's been broken," he replied in a near
whisper.

"How was it broken?"

"It was entrusted to someone who wasn't very careful with
it," he told her sadly. "Someone who let it slip from his
clumsy fingers and tumble to the ground."

It was several moments before either spoke again. Once
pulses returned to normal and skin had become chilled,
Scully ran her fingers through Mulder's hair.

"Can the damage be repaired, Scully?" He tilted his head
so he could see her eyes. After all, it was her eyes that
told everything.

Had they not made love that night, she would have told him no.
He had caused a hurt like she had never experienced. It was
like he had said, she gave him her heart and he had shattered
it into a million pieces.

But, unexpectedly, they had shared a bed. More than that,
they had shared something else. They had shared their souls.

Like Scully, Mulder's eyes told something, too. Twin orbs
which showed his own pain and how another heart had been broken.
They reflected a naked truth brought on in a moment of
vulnerability.

They told her how much he loved her.

Not the corny kind of love, but the mythical kind. The kind
that is only found in fairy tales. The kind that said that
he would face demons and slay dragons for a kiss from her.

As she looked into those eyes, she realized she had demons
to be exorcised and dragons that needed slaying.

And she knew then that she wanted Mulder, and only Mulder, to
help her face them.

Could her broken heart be repaired?

"Broken hearts are able to be mended," she said, "and mine
could certainly use the help. But, mended hearts can still
be fragile, so please be gentle with mine."

He became glassy-eyed at her request, and pulled himself up
to her face. He nudged her nose with his own and placed a
warm, reassuring kiss on her mouth.

"I know two wrongs don't make a right," his raspy voice
glided across her skin sending chills up her spine, "but
perhaps two fragile hearts can make one strong heart."

With teary eyes and a breathtaking smile, she pulled his
mouth down to her own and claimed him forever.

And in her eyes, he saw all that he was to her. He was her
companion, her lover, her partner, and her prince.

He was her Mulder.
