Disclaimer: The usual ownership policy; CC, 1013, Fox, etc. Author's Notes: Recently, in my AP English Honors class, we studied poetry, sonnets, Shakespeare, and the like. I wrote my assignment of "one good sonnet" to frame the essence of most relationships. Particularly, I aimed toward relationships that seem to endure constant trial in Life, ultimately, it seems, living only in mutual peace with Death. Yet, I especially wrote it with Mulder's and Scully's relationship in mind (specifically in correlation to "all things" and "Requiem"), for they truly seem to embody one of the greatest representations of a modern-day Romeo and Juliet. However, I just hope they aren't completely star-crossed! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Severance Never In Hereafter Cosset of Love, upon a bare vale, Tender, coupled souls slowly entwine. A flush of crimson splaying the pale; Venus marks many with this sign, Availed beneath Ebony's curtain, Are the enigmatic conceptions, Borne of the desolate and uncertain. Grains of hour, all wanton affections. One chamber beats, the other pulls tight, Both aware of each course, life, and time, Yet, wary of an internal fight, One half of the whole, shall cross a line, For each apprehensive, faithful love, Endures mortal lies before the Above. ~EEJ, September 28, 2000 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Note: Direct personal, multilevel interpretations/translations if desired.
