He lifts his head and stares across the room taking in the beauty 
of his partner.He knows that she saved his ass again ,she always 
saves his ass. His hero and secretfantasy all wrapped up into one 
little red headed package. He must not let her catch 
his gaze while she is working hard on writing a report on the 
previous case. She seems to having some difficulty. Surely it's 
nottoo hard to describe a man eating 
lipo-monster.Well, for Scully it should at least be getting a 
little bit easier after years of seeing the most strangest of
creatures.

My head still aches and as I move my aching cast leg lying 
elevated on the bed, it makes an unwelcomed noise that startles 
her from her concentration. She lifts 
her head, a look of concern is evident.

'Mulder, are you okay?' her voice low and caring.

I feel almost embarrassed that she has been bothered but 
thrilled that she cares. 'I'm fine Scully, my leg was feeling 
a little cramped.'

She stands and moves towards the bed and when she arrives she
begins to check my leg, probably for compartment syndrome but still 
the touch is welcomed.

'Mulder, it's time for your pain medicine, I'll be back in a 
few minutes.' She smiles and tucks the blankets gently, gives me a 
sweet smile, then leaves the room.

I watch until I can no longer see her as she makes her way to 
the kitchen. I miss her already though I know it's for only a few 
moments. She is here and she cares. 

That thought is more comforting than all the pain medicine in 
the world and I close my eyes to wait anxiously for her touch 
again.
