Disclaimer: Mulder, Scully, 1013, et al.: Me no own You no sue We no problem Dedication: To Robin-it is all your fault! Author's Note: I'm not exactly sure how to progress. My first X-files fairy tale did OK, so I started thinking what I would tackle next. I hit upon "Sleeping Beauty" and started outlining the plot. As I did, it occurred to me how well the movie fit into the basic "Sleeping Beauty" story. So, here goes? Sleeping Beauty By: Scheherezade Somewhere, one night, lines blurred, and the world of fairy tales mixed with the world of film story, and this was the result? Scully, the modern day Princess Aurora, had a curse hanging over her. It was not in the form of a sharp distaff that she was destined to prick her finger on, but in the form of a small bee hiding in her collar, who was destined to prick her with its deadly little stinger. This prick, wherever it came from, was not destined to come on the princess's 16th birthday, but instead at a critical moment in the relationship of Scully and her prince. Scully's analeptic shock did not have the duration of a hundred year's sleep, but the 48 hours it lasted were long enough for Mulder. Mulder did not have to fight the wall of brambles his princely predecessor did, but instead had to face the harsh, biting conditions of Antarctica. But face them he did, and when he found his princess he awakened her with (what else?) a kiss, of mouth- to-mouth resuscitation, and some powerful potion, provided by a good wizard (I can't very well turn the well-manicured man into a fairy, now can I? Besides, in some versions, the prince is aided by a mysterious old man, who gives him the sword that parts the brambles). Scully awakens, and while she and Mulder do not live "happily ever after" they are at least still working together, even if it is not on the reopened X-Files. The End Short and sweet.
