I wish they belonged to me. Saterday 12:54 PM D.C. Park "Come on Scully hit it hard" replied Mulder. Scully stood up to bat and swung at the first pitch. It was a strike and Scully cursed under her breath. The second ball came flying at Scully and she hit it hard. Scully made it to 2nd base. "Come on Mulder bring me home" Scully yelled as Mulder took the bat in his hands. The ball made a louad smack sound as it hit the bat and went flying into the air. Mulder ran fast. Scully took off. She rounded 3rd base and was heading home. The ball was also heading toward home so Scully tried to slide into home base. She she did she felt a sharp pain in her knee. "Safe" yelled the umpire. Scully did not even notice. All she could do was grab her knee and scream in pain. "Scully are you ok?" asked Mulder as he ran to her side. "My knee is on fire! Mulder when I slid I heard something pop. Oh God it hurts so bad. I don't know what I could have done to be in so much pain." Scully cried. By now the tear were starting to roll down her cheeks. "Scully can you get up and walk?" Mulder said with concern in his voice. "Mulder I don't think so. Can you go get me some ice for my knee and something to place under it so I can keep it elavated." Scully said as she winced in pain. "Ok but first I am going to carry you off the field to a more comfortable place." Mulder said. He placed his hand under Scully and carried her to a bench in the stands. As he was moving her he could see the pain in her face. He got a duffle bag placed it under her knee and got some ice for her. "Is the ice helping Scully?" Mulder asked as he took her hand in his. Scully could only shake her head no. He was really worried about her. Scully was usually brave about things but this time she must have been really hurt. "Scully I think you should go and see a doctor." said Mulder. "I think your right Mulder I should. Could you please thake me to an ER?" begged Scully. Mulder gently picked her up and placed her in the front seat of his car. Off they went to the hospital. Geroge Washington Emergency Room 2:45 PM Saterday Mulder helped Scully into a wheelchair and onto a gurney. A nurse slid a pillow under Scully's knee and placed an ice pack on it. Mulder took Scully's hand in his and held it. She squezzed his hand back. "Mulder thanks for staying with me. Oh God I am so stupid and clumsey."Scully said as she laid her head back on a pillow. "Don't say that. It's not youe fault Scully. Things like this happen" Mulder said as he took Scully into his arms. "Hello I am Dr. Johnson. What seems to be the problem today?" questioned the young female doctor. "I was sliding into home base and I heard my knee go pop. Then I felt this firey pain in my knee." Scully said. The doctor pressed down on Scull's knee and she let out a soft cry. Mulder stroked her tender face. Oh boy did Scully feel stupid. "I am going to order an x-ray to find out what is wrong with yor knee." Dr. Johnson said. An x-ray tech came and took Scully to get her x-rays. Ten minutes later she was back. "So Scully what is wrong with your knee?" questioned Mulder as he got up and went to her side. "Mulder I don't know yet. First the doctor has to review them before I find out what is wrong. I just hope it is not to bad." Scully said "Miss Scully I see no fracture to your knee. Howver I do see some damage to the tendons on the side of your knee. I have called in an Orthopedic consult and have ordered an MRI for you." the doctor said A nurse helped Scully into a hospital gown. The nurse guided Scully's gurney down the hall to the MRI. Mulder followed holding Scully's hand. He kissed her forhead and wished her luck. "See you in an hour Mulder." Scully said. "Be good for the doctor." Mulder replied. Mulder went into the waiting room to sit down. He grabed a magazine and stated reading it. The minutes semmed more like hours as he sat and waited for Scully. He was so worried about her injuery and he prayed it would not be a bad one. Scully lay very still as she was put inside the machine. Her mind was racing. The doctor inside her was trying to find out what was wrong. She wished Mulder could be with her. The tears came down her face as she was thinking about the possibilites of her injury could be. After what seemed like forever Scully finally came out of the MRI and was taken back to the ER. The nurse gave her some pain medication that helped. Mulder stroked Scully's hair as she lay in the bed. He could see the tears coming down her face and he brushed them away with his hand. Scully lay there motionless waiting for the doctor to come in. Oh how she hated waiting. Doctors could be so slow she thought to herself. "Hello I am Dr. Gill" said the young doctor. Scully sat up and winced in pain as she did so. Mulder helped her by placing the pillow behind her back. "Well Miss Scully you seemed to have torn your ACL. I am going to have to repair it surgecally. The sooner the better. I am going to admit you upstairs and tomorrow I will go in in fix it up. I am going to do the surgery Orthrowscopiclly so there will be a quicker recovery period." the doctor said. When the doctor left Scully broke down in tears. Mulder took her in his arms. She hated hospitals and the thought of having to have surgery on her knee scared her. "Scully what is your ACL and what kind of surgery are you having?" Mulder asked in a concerned voice. "The ACL is a ligament that runs on the side of the knee and the surgery I am having is were they make a 2 inch cut and go in to repair the ligament." Scully said. A nurse came in started an IV drew some blood and moved Scully up to her roomScully tried to call her mom but she was not home at all.When Mulder came up to her room he saw that she had fallen asleep. He sat down beside her bed and kissed her. She stirred in her sleep. "Mulder go home and get some sleep." Scully said "No I am staying right here. Oh by the way Scully do you want me to go out and get you something better than hospital food to eat?" Mulder asked. "I wish you could but I can't eat till after the surgery tomorrow." Scully said. Mulder ran down to the gift shop and bought a deck of cards. He and Scully played Go fish and War till they were both tired. Mulder tucked Scully in and said good bye to her. She needed her rest. George Washington Hospital 6:00 AM Sunday Mulder got to the hospital just in time to see Scully before she left for surgery. She was pretty nervous but knew that it had to be done. "Scully I hope things go goog in surgery for you. Take care kiddo. See you when you wake up" Mulder said as he kissed Scully. She was trembling and crying. "Mulder I am scared." Scully said with a trembling voice. "OK Miss Scully we are ready to go." said the nurse Mulder followed Scully to the Operating Room doors and gave her one final squeez of the hand. He watched till she was out of sight and sat down in the waiting room. He tried to read but was to nervous so he paced up and down the hall. He must have walked two miles aurond the hall because his feet were killing him. "Mr. Mulder Scully is out of surgery and in the recovery room. Everything went very well. She is still sleeping but you can go in and see her now" Dr Gill said. Mulder flew down the hall and rushed right into recovery. Scully was fast asleep with an oxygen mask on her face. Her knee was covered with a lage brace and elavated with the help of two pillows. Her skin was very pale. Mulder took her hand in his and talked softly to her. "Mulder" Scully said in a muffled voice under the oxygen mask. "I am here Scully it's ok. I am here with you." Mulder said. Scully squeezed his hand and opened her eyes. The nurse came over and gave Scully some medication through her IV. "I am going to take that mask off your face now." said the nurse. Scully was happy to have Mulder with her. "Scully how are you feeling?" asked Mulder. "My knee sorta hurts and my throat is sore." said Scully in a raspy voice. Mulder fed her some ice chips amd repostioned the ice on her badaged knee. "Hello Miss Scully. I am happy to see that you are awake now. The surgery went just fine. I am happy to say that we fixed the ACL. Tomorrow we will get you up and out of bed. I want you to rest today." said Dr. Gill. Scully thanked the doctor and the nurse came in to check Scullys vitals and move her back to her room. Mulder stayed with her most of the day. She was sleeping most of it so alot of good it did him anyway. After dinner he kissed Scully goodbye and headed home for the night. George Washington Hospital Monday 10:00 AM "Come on Scully you can do it. Just balence your weight on the cruthes." Mulder said as he cheered Scully on. She looked much better today. Her face was no longer pale and she was sporting black sweets and her FBI softball shirt. Mulder walked along side of her with her IV pole at hand. "It hurts alot but I gotta keep going." Scully said with a look of pain on her face. She kept moving down the hall one painful step at a time. Hopefully she would be out of the hosptal by Wensday. "Your doing good Scully. Just one more trip down the hall and your done." Mulder said. With determination and very sore armpits she made it. Mulder gave her a big hug and helped her get back in bed. He placed the IV pole next to her bed and sat down in the chair beside her. "Boy did that make me hungary" Scully said. "Want me to run down to the store and get you some food?" Mulder asked. "Sure I want a muffin and some coffie." Scully said, With that Mulder was gone. Scully sat in bed watching trashy talk shows. The phone rang and made her jump. "Hello." Scully said "Scully it's Skinner. How are you feeling?" he said over the phone. "I am ok sir. I am still sore and a bit tired but I should be ok soon. The doctors say I can go home on Wensday." "It's good to hear that. I hope you are getting better. Don't worry about coming to work any time soon. I want you to come back when you are ready. Tell Mulder to take some time off as well." said Skinner. "I will sir and thanks for calling." she said. With that she put the phone down and went back to watching TV. Not long after that Mulder returned with her food and some flowers. "Hey there sweetheart." Mulder said as he palced the flowers down on the table. Scully reached for her bedside table and winced in pain as she did so. Mulder was standing right up and helped her move it over. She blused with embarresment. "Thanks for all your help Mulder." Scully said. She looked into his beautiful eyes and he looked in hers and they shared a kiss. Not just a little one but a big one. It was at that moment they both knew that they were in love. The rest of the day was spent with physical therapy and medical tests. Mulder left at about 9 that night. Scully laid in bed thinking about the man she loved. Tuesday 12:00 PM George Washington Hospital "Scully that was really good. You will be off those cruthes sooner that you think." Mulder said. "It's just to bad I can't play in the championship softball game." Scully said. "Hey you wanna go down to the cafateria and grab a bite to eat?" Mulder asked. "Sure thing." Scully said. Mulder helped her into a wheelchair and down they went. Scully inhaled all her food before having to go back up to her room for some more phyical therapy. God did she hate that. After 2 hours of walking and bending her knee witch by now was really sore Scully got some time to relax. Mulder took her to the hospital gift shop and bought her a heart necklace and an I love you card. She took it and kissed him. They went back up to her room. "Mulder I wish that I could get rid of this IV now." Scully said as she lay in her bed. Mulder helped her put the ice on her knee and kissed her again. "Miss Scully I am happy with your fast recovery. However I would like you to stay on the cruthes for at least 3 weeks before you can even try walking. You need to take at least two weeks off of work and stay on light work for the next 6 weeks. Try to stay off your leg as much as possible." said Dr Gill "Thanks Dr. Gill." Scully said. "Well I guss that means no softball game for you Miss Dana Scully." Mulder teased. "Don't rub it in Mulder. Oh I hate you so much!" exclamed Scully. Mulder threw Scully a funny look. God did he love to see her helpless and childlike. It made him love her even more. The past few days had put their toll on poor Scully. All the physical therapy made her tired. "Mulder I just relized that I am going to need someone to help me out for the next 3 weeks." Scully said. "Ok I will stay at your apartment and sleep on your sofa." replied Mulder So if was decided that Mulder would stay with Scully. She was happy because she enjoyed Mulder's company. The physical therapist came in again and Scully's face turned pale white with fear. It was time for another walk on her cruthes. Mulder helped her out of bed took her IV pole in hand and off they went down the hall. "Hey Scully look it's Skinner." Mulder said. "Agent Scully how are you feeling?" questioned Skinner. "Sore but alot better. Thankyou sir." replied Scully. "I am glad to hear that." said Skinner. He walked down the hall with the two agents and then left. Scully was glad to see Skinner. He usually did not stop by the hospital to see his agents. "Pendrell called me today to see how you were doing and the Byers, Langley, and Frohike send their regards as well." said Mulder "Looks like I am a popular gal." said Scully. Mulder looked into her eyes and they kissed. As they did so Scully almost fell. "Ouch!" exclaimed Scully. Mulder was right by her side to catch her. He placed his arm aurond her and gently lifted her up. He carried her back to the bed and placed her in it. Mulder pulled the covers up to her chin and kissed his princess. Mulder ran down stairs to his car and pulled out to baseball gloves and a ball. He ran back up to Scully's room. "Hey Scully wanna play catch?" Mulder said. Scully noded her head yes. He jumped to the other side of the room and they started to play. Scully was having a hard time cathing the ball from the bed bit she was having fun. "Mulder thanks so much for everything. I would be one very bored gal without you here." Scull said. "No need to thank me. It is part of my job to keep the love of my life happy." Mulder replied. They locked lips and shared one long big kiss. Scully took Mulders hand in hers and at that moment she knew that they were ment to be. Wensday 9:15 AM George Washington Hospital Scully sat on the edge of the bed fully clothed with her cruthes by her side. Mulder came in and grabed her overnight bag. The nurse helped Scully into the wheelchair and in the car. "Mulder thanks so much for doing this." Scully said as she sat back in the passengers seat. The ride home from the hospital was uneventful and Scully ended up falling asleep. Mulder looked at her and thougt that she looked like an angel. "Hey Sleppy Head we are home now." Mulder said as he gently lifed her up and out of the car. Her eyes fluttered open slowly and focused on Mulder. She kissed his lips. Mulder carried her upstairs and to the sofa. He placed her down on it and coverd her with a blanket. "Ice please" Scully said. Mulder placed the ice on her knee and gave her a pain pill. She smiled at him and grabed her book. Mulder went back down to the car and grabed her cruthes and overnight bag. When he got back Scully was fast asleep on the sofa. Mulder planted a kiss on her cheek and ordered some pizza. The doorbell rang and Scully woke up. Mulder ran to the door and got the pizza. He helped Scully to the table and they sat down to eat. A Park in Washington 1 week later "Come on Mulder make a homerun and we will win the champinship." Scully yelled as she leaned on her cruthes. Mulder hit the ball hard and started to run. He was aurond 2nd and was on his way to home when the umpire called safe. The team was jumping for joy and Mulder ran to Scully. He kissed her on the lips. The crowd was going wild as they watched the best part of the game a big kiss come to life. It was the best moment of the day. Mulder got down on one knee and placed a ring on Scully's finger. "Will you do me the honor of being my wife Dana Scully?" Mulder said "Yes Fox Mulder I will." she said with tears in her eyes. The team all gathered aurond Mulder and Scully and gave them all big cheers as the two lovers kissed once more. Mrs. Scully's House 1 week later Scully hobled over to the dinner table and took a seat next to Mulder. The smell of the homemade dinner made her mouth water. Mulder took his hand in hers. "Dana I am so happy to see you doing so well." said Mrs Scully. Tomorrow would be her first day back to work since her injury and she was looking foward to telling all the Agents about her engagement. "Mom there is something Fox and I have to tell you." Scully said "What is it dear?" Mrs. Scully asked. "Fox and I are engaged." Scully said Mrs. Scully gave her daughter a big hug and tears filled her eyes. She went over and gave her new son a big hug as well. FBI Headquaters The Next Day Scully made her way down the hall on her cruthes to her basement office. When she got there the room was filled with many of her Co Workers and friends. There was a big banner that read Congradulations Mulder and Scully. "Welcome back kiddo." Mulder said as he placed his arms aurond her. "Oh Mulder I love you so much." Scully said. They kissed and the entire room cheered them on. Scully leaned on her cruthes and took in the room of people. She looked at the man she loved and smiled. FBI Headquarters 2 weeks later Scully sat at the desk looking at all the pictures of wedding gowns. She smiled as she came to one she really liked. It had a lace top with small cap sleevs and a mesh net skirt. Mulder walkied in and she sliped the book away before he could see it. "Hey there Sweetheart how was physical therapy today?" Mulder asked "It was good muffin. I am doing better and my limp is not as bad as it was two days ago." Scully said. "I asked Skinner to be my best man and the lone gunmen are going to be my ushers." Mulder said "Bill's wife is going to be my maid of honor and Skinner secretary is going to be my bridesmaid as well as Agents Smith and Black. Bill is going to walk me down the asile." Scully said. Scully limped over to Mulder and showed him the pictures of the Tuxedos. He liked the very much. Wedding Planers office 1 month later Everything was almost done and the wedding was 2 weeks away. Mulder and Scully sat in the wedding planers office to finish up some last minute things. "The big day is almost here." Scully said to Mulder as they looked at a cake book. The napkins were being printed and the dresses were ready for pickup any day now. "What do you think of doves?" Mulder asked. "I like it Mulder" "Ok the doves will fly after our big kiss then." Mulder said. "Ok sound great." Scully said. "I am so happy that I will get to spend the rest of my life with the most beautiful woman in the world." Mulder said. Thet kissed again. Holy Family Church 2 weeks later Mulder stood at the alter nervously in his handsome black tux. The music started and down came the bride in a dress that had a white lace top with cap sleevs and a mesh net skirt. She looked like an angel to him. Mulder and Scully took each others hands. "Do you Fox take Dana Scully to be your wife in sickness and in health till death do you part for as long as you both shall live." "I do" said Mulder "Do you Dana take Fox Mulder to be your husband in sickness and in health till death do you part for as long as you both shall live." "I do" said Scully "We will now nave the exchanging of the rings." said the pastor "Dana I promise to be the best husband a woman could ever ask for. I will love you always and I promise to be your best friend for life so take this ring as a token of my love for you." Mulder said as he placed the ring on Scully's finger. "Fox I promise to be not only youe partner at work but your partner in life. I promise to love you always and be your best friend for live in love so take this ring as a token of my love for you." Scully sais as she placed the ring on Mulders finger. "I know pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." said the pastor. Mulder lifted up the veil and kissed his wife. "May I present Mr. and Mrs. Mulder to you." the pastor said. The church erupted in cheers and Mulder looked into the eyes of his new wife and they took each others hands together as husband and wife.
