Outside Scully's Apt. Building

Doggett finished leaving his third message on Scully's answering
machine. She wasn't answering her cell phone either. He was starting
to get worried because she was supposed to have called him three hours
ago and he hadn't seen or heard from her for 2 days now. He made his
way up to her apartment. "Agent Scully, it's Agent Doggett." He waited
a second but got no answer.

One of Scully's neighbors across the hall opened his apartment door,
getting ready to leave.

Doggett stopped him. "Excuse me, sir, do you know if Scully is home?"

"Yeah, she's home. I saw her an hour or two ago. She didn't look like
she was feeling too well. She said she was fine though. Why? Is
something wrong?"

Doggett looked worried. "Might be. I'm her partner at the FBI, she was
supposed to call me over 3 hours ago."

"You're her partner? Where's Mulder?"

"He's missing. I was assigned to find him. Do you know if there's
someone who can let me in here?" He pointed to Scully's apartment.

"Yeah, Mr. Coeben can let you in. I'll get him for you. That's too bad
to hear about Mulder especially after the good news Scully just
recieved. They were really close." He started to walk away. "I'll be
back in a minute."

"Hey, wait...what good news is that?" Doggett asked puzzled.

"Didn't she tell you? She's pregnant." The man started towards the end
of the hallway again.

Doggett looked shocked. "No, she didn't tell me."

Mr. Coeben came and opened the door for Doggett and wandered inside
after thanking him."Agent Scully, are you in here?"

"Mulder." 

He heard her call from the bedroom."Agent Scully, are you alright?"
She seemed to be in a feverish daze."Mulder, you're home. I missed you
so much."

Doggett felt her blazing hot forehead. "Agent Scully, It's Agent
Doggett. Mulder's not here." He picked her up and carried her down to
his car.

"Mulder, where are we going?" She asked confused.

"I'm taking you to the hospital." 

HOSPITAL

Doggett carried Scully into the ER and let the doctors do their job.
He waited in the waiting room for someone to come and talk to
him."You're agent Doggett?"Doggett opened his eyes and sat up.

"Yeah, that's me."The nurse sat down next to him. 

"Ms. Scully's going to be fine. We've got her temperature under
control. She's asking to see a Fox Mulder." Doggett held his head in
his hands. "Can I see her?""Um...Sure."

Doggett used the payphone to call Skinner and then slowly walked to
Scully's hospital room. He knocked on the door before entering.

 Scully smiled. "Agent Doggett, could you please have Mulder come in
here?"Doggett frowned.

"Agent Scully, Mulder's not here, he's still missing."Scully looked
puzzled. "But he...he carried me to the car, he brought me here.""That
was me. You were in a daze from the fever."

Tears streamed down her face.

"I'm sorry." He held back the urge to question her about why she had
kept her pregnancy a secret from him. He decided to give her time and
then he left the room. He figured she would have to tell him
eventually.

After Doggett left, all she could think about was finding Mulder.
