Disclaimer: Mulder, Scully, Melissa,Walter adn Sharon Skinner belong to
Chris Carter at Ten Thirteen Productions, David Duchovny, Gillian
Anderson, Melinda McGraw, Mitch Pileggi and Jennifer Hetrick. :-)

There are many references to the production "Miss Saigon", produced by
Cameron Macintosh, music by Alain Boublil and Jean-Michael Schonberg.

A little background of the Miss Saigon angle.

For those of you who have never seen this musical, I really feel you are
missing out. It is my favorite production that I have ever seen.

I have used three of my favorite songs from the play in this story. The
songs mentioned are "The Heat is on in Saigon" performed by the cast,
"Why God Why" performed by Chris, "Sun and Moon" performed by Kim
and "Last Night of the World" performed by Kim and Chris.

Oh yeah, there is a little thing about his being rated NC-17. So if you
are
under eighteen or just don't like the idea of our heroes enjoying each
other
physically turn away now!

Fox Mulder flopped back on to his bed. He was exhausted.

They were close... so close. And yet, the truth has eluded them once
again.

They were in New York investigating what he thought was an alien
abduction. During the case, he and Scully had discovered the evidence
they never expected to receive.

The location of Melissa Scully. This came as a total and complete shock
to
both of them. They thought Melissa had been dead for over a year. But
apparently, Cancerman had gotten yet another shot in on them.

The chase eventually ended up in an old warehouse, which had been
converted to house a medical laboratory. She was there......

Both Mulder and Scully had seen her. A doctor had her by the arm and was
rushing her out a back door. Scully screamed her name..... Melissa
turned....

And then she was gone, that quick. By the time Scully and Mulder made it
out the back door, they had shoved Melissa into an awaiting helicopter. It
was already lifting off the ground.

And she was gone. Gone yet again.

Scully was a wreck. She had called her mother and explained the situation
to her.

She tried to comfort her mother, telling her that they would get Melissa
back.

Mulder thought about how the situation had changed. The search which
had always been his, had suddenly become theirs.

It had always been him and Scully against the world. But inevitably, the
search for the truth would lead to Samantha.

And now, it was him and Scully, in search of their sisters. Mulder had
always felt responsible for losing Samantha that night. And now, he could
add Melissa to the list of victims.

He had 25 years to get used to what happened, to adjust to his life in
pursuit of his sister, of trusting no one but Scully. And in that trust,
letting
no one see the real him, except her. Always teetering on the line that
separated them from being friends/partners to something more.

And now, it was Scully's turn. He had no one to comfort him. His father
was always so distant and secretive.... and his mother, his mother was too
devastated to worry about him.

He had been alone. But Scully... she had her mother. And she had him.
The love that they would provide her would surround her until they found
Melissa.

Wait.... love? well, maybe not love. Mulder shifted his position on the
bed. Okay, maybe it was love. Okay, there was no maybe about it. He had
admitted to himself long ago that he had fallen in love with Dana Scully.

His body tingled at the mere thought that someday they could have
something beyond what they had now. To physically be able to share each
other as they had their souls.

He shook that thought out of his mind. He was afraid to bare that much of
himself to her, not only afraid of being hurt, but of having others use it
to
hurt them.

He sighed. He had to do something to cheer Dana up, not think about
himself.

He glanced at the newspaper spread across the floor. An ad in the
entertainment section caught his eye.

An idea formed in his head. He picked up the phone and began to dial.
**********
Dana Scully sat in her hotel room, wiping the last of the tears from her
eyes.

She had seen her sister three days ago, and had not been able to help her.
Melissa eyes had pleaded with her across the room, but she was too late.
And now she was gone again.

Telling her mother had been hard as well. It was hard to tell her mom
about
her work. She knew that Margaret Scully worried day and night about her.
And now, her work had cost her her own sister for the second time in a
year.

Her phone rang. She sniffed one more time before answering.

"Hey Scully it's me."

"What is it Mulder?"

"I just talked to Skinner. He doesn't need us back in Washington until
Monday. That gives us two days to paint the town red."

Scully was shocked. She couldn't believe Mulder was suggesting this,

"Scully, I know what you are thinking. But, you really need to clear your
mind. We will find her Scully, but you have to keep an open mind. Sitting
around and feeling bad or sorry isn't going to bring her back. That is an
important lesson Melissa taught me once."

Scully thought about his words. As horrible as it sounded, it made sense.

"So what Mulder? What are we going to do?"

"Well, we'll start with dinner. I have tickets for us to a show tomorrow
night."

"Oh, is there a strip club having a two for one special tomorrow night?"
'Dammit Dana, why do you have to say such horrible things to him.'

But Mulder took it in stride. It was a good sign, she was insulting him.

"No, I got us tickets to see 'Miss Saigon'."

"Okay, it sounds like a plan."

He hung up the phone. He had a date with Dana Scully. He couldn' t help
but smile from ear to ear.

**********

The following morning, Scully was feeling restless. She put on her jogging
suit and decided to take a long run.

She left the motel parking lot and rounded the corner. There were two
little
girls playing hopscotch.

The pain began again. The thought that those bastards faked her own
sister's death was unbearable.

'I know so little of what they did to me. What can they be doing to her?'

She wondered how Mulder did it from day to day. The pain and loss that
he suffered when Samantha was abducted was unimaginable to Dana until
now.

Now, they both had lost a sister. For her, she thought that loss was
unrecoverable. Until now.

'Melissa is alive, that gives you hope.'

She again thought about Mulder. He was so young when Samantha was
taken, he had no one to support him.

Scully didn't know much about Mulder's past, but she doubted that his
parents offered him any kind of comfort. He was alone, alone to face it
by
himself.

And now, in her time of need, he was the one trying to help her. She
smiled. Of all things to do, he was taking her to a Broadway show.

He was such a sweet man. It was hard to get past his exterior, but once
you did, there was nothing you could do but love him.

'Love him?!!' She sighed. 'Don't deny it. You know you do.'

But she knew that nothing could come from it. Not if they wanted to
continue together.

And at this point, Scully couldn't imagine working without Mulder at her
side.

She looked across the street at a little shopping mall. 'I need something
to
wear tonight' she thought.

She quickly crossed the street and entered the mall.

**********

Mulder fidgeted with his tie once again. It just wouldn't go straight.

'Ah, the hell with it. It isn't like this is a date' he thought. This is
something
to get Scully's mind off of things.

He grabbed his coat and left his room, crossing the hall to Scully's. He
knocked and was almost knocked off his feet.

She looked gorgeous, dressed in a black dress which clung to all the right
curves. It had a V neck front, the skirt ending at her knees.

"Hey Mulder! Just give me one more second."

He nodded his head, still dumbfounded at how gorgeous she looked. Her
hair as swept up on her head, exposing the white softness of her neck.

Placing her wrap around her shoulders, she turned to him and frowned.

"Is there something wrong?"

"What? Uh, no. You look great." Damn, she caught me staring.

"Okay, well we better go if we're going to eat before the show."

"Uh, yeah." He stepped ahead to get the door for her.

'This is going to be an interesting evening' Mulder thought to himself.

**********

Dinner was tense to say the least.

Mulder finally got over his fascination of staring at her breasts. 'You
would
think this is the first time I noticed them.'

But, the conversation was the most tense it had ever been between them.
They didn't want to talk about work. It rarely made good dinner
conversation.

Usually, he could inquire about her family, especially Margaret Scully.
He
cared about her so much. Margaret welcomed him to her family with no
hesitation, with no doubt in her heart.

Back was Dana was taken, he blamed himself for it. His quest, though
unspoken, was to find Dana. And Margaret had sensed that about him. He
tried to give her Dana's necklace, but she spoke a line that made Mulder's
heart melt.

"You give it back to her when you find her."

She had placed all her love and trust in him. She trusted and believed he
could find her.

Mulder would never forget that. His own parents had never placed that
type of trust in him.

But now, he couldn't bring himself to ask about Margaret. What would be
Scully's reply?

"Oh, she is fine considering I just told her that Melissa isn't dead and
that
the government is using her to get to us."

Mulder shook his head. Melissa was an innocent in this whole mess, and
now those bastards had yet again used the innocent to get what they
wanted.

He brought his mind back to the present. He noticed Scully staring at him.

"What's wrong?"

"Oh, nothing. I'm just thinking."

"I thought tonight was supposed to be about us having fun, no thinking
involved."

He gave her a grin. "Right, that it is. So, I won't think of anything
heavy
until morning. How does that sound?"

She smirked at him. "What makes you think we're still going to be having
fun by morning?"

He caught the insinuation. He blushed.

"Th-that's not what I meant, I mean-"

Scully smiled. Not one of those little enigmatic smiles she has, but a
beautiful unScully like smile.

"Mulder, I'm teasing. Relax will you?"

She saw him visibly relax.

But the more she thought about it, being with Mulder until morning didn't
sound that bad.

Sun and Moon Part 2

They decided to walk from the restaurant to the theater instead of calling
a taxi. They had
their rental car still from the case but trying to drive in New York City
was like trying to
hold back the tide. It just didn't happen.

The night was cool and clear. Mulder watched Scully as she stared at the
sky. She looked
at the stars.

He couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. Especially now, with
the stars and
moon shining in her eyes.

The slight breeze chilled her a little, so she stepped closer to him.
Other theatergoers were
enjoying the night as well. Everyone was well dressed and walking arm in
arm. The
romantic mood was contagious.

Scully linked her arm with Mulder. He swallowed deeply and stepped a
little closer to her.

She wasn't oblivious to the movement. The longer they walked, the closer
they got until
they were almost pressed together side by side.

Neither of them spoke a word. This kind of mild flirting was scorned upon
by the bureau.
Partners were split up for doing anymore than this.

But yet, it was kind of exciting. Neither of them had really flirted
openly with each other
before. There were always the gazes and slight touches, the little
comments to lessen a
situation. But what they were doing now could lead to dangerous waters.

'But this really feels good' she thought.

They saw the theater and separated a little. The crowd was slowly filing
in.

They entered and were shown to their seats. The music was playing quietly.

Scully was impressed by the seats Mulder had gotten. They were only seven
rows back
from the stage. She settled into the seat and waited for the performance
to start.

She looked at him. He had a sort of worried look on his face. He was
trying to avoid her
gaze.

She smiled inwardly. "I'm having a wonderful time. Thank you."

He looked at her and grinned. "I'm glad. This is turning into a great
night."

Their eyes locked, and Scully could swear she felt heat pass between them.
Their faces
were mere inches away. They leaned closer and closer just as the lights
blinked telling
everyone to be seated for the performance.

She pulled her face away blushing. 'What the hell are you thinking?' I
know what I was
thinking, I just shouldn't be thinking it.

Mulder twitched uncomfortably in his seat. 'That was close. Too close.
Keep yourself
under control for God's sake.'

The orchestra started playing the music. It started loudly, then got
softer, with a little
Asian type music added in.

It was nice. A young Asian girl entered the stage. She looked like she
couldn't be
anymore than twenty.

She looked around a little as more women entered. They began to sing.

"Tonight I will be Miss Saigon"

Another, older looking woman took a solo part. It was obvious she was
going to be the
spoiler in this little song.

"Tonight you'll be miss jumped upon."

The group again:

"I'll win a GI and be gone"

"He'll screw you with your crown still on."

A younger girl identified later as Mimi asked:

"What happens when the Cong attack?"

"They'll rip the hot pants off your back"

And the group:

"The VC all wear basic black."

A man in his forties entered the stage. He sang a few bantering notes with
the girls.

The lights then began to change and blink. Women dressed in scantily clad
bikinis came
on-stage from one side, and men dressed as Marines from the other.

Scully watched the women dancing on-stage. She leaned over to Mulder.

"Now I see why you wanted to come here." She whispered.

He feigned a look of innocence on his face. "I had no idea. All I know is
that this is a
tragic love story." He answered, his eyes never leaving the bikinis.

Scully shook her head a little and settled back to watch some more.
**********

A short time later, they were deep into the love aspect of the play. Kim,
the first girl who
entered the stage at the beginning, was new to the club. She was only 17,
and not quite
like the other girls. It was her first night working.

John and Chris were a couple of hell raising GI's. John paid $10 for Kim
to spend the night
with Chris.

They spent the night, and now it was morning. Chris had just finished
singing a song that
broke people's heart.

Why does Saigon never sleep at night?
Why does this girl smell of orange trees.
How can I feel good when nothing's right?
Why is she cool when there is no breeze?
Vietnam, you don't give answers do you friend?
Just questions that don't ever end

Why God? Why today? I'm all through here, on my way
there's nothing left here that I'll miss
Why send me now, a night like this?

The song continued on, and both Mulder and Scully found themselves being
drawn more
and more into the story.

Who is this girl in this rusty bed?
Why am I back, in a filthy room?
Why is her voice ringing in my head?
Why am I high on her cheap perfume

Vietnam, look, I mean you no offense.
But why does nothing here make sense?

Why God, show your hand.
Why can't one guy, understand
I've been with girls who knew much more,
I've never felt confused before.

Mulder glanced over at Scully. She sat transfixed by the song.

'Confused? Buddy, you should try falling in love with your partner and
talk about being
confused.'

The play continued on. Kim had woken, and she and Chris were discussing
her past.

She was orphaned when the Vietcong stormed her village and burned it.
Chris had just
asked her to stay with him. He was sitting in a chair, Kim sitting on her
knees in front of
him, excited at the prospect of going to America.

She placed her hand on Chris's cheek and began to sing.

You are sunlight and I moon
Joined by he Gods of fortune
midnight and high noon
Sharing the sky, we have been blessed you and I

Scully sighed. Such a beautiful song. She glanced at Mulder. He was
watching the play
intently. Chris began to sing

You are here like a mystery
I'm from a world that's so different, from all that you are
How in the light of one night, did we come, so far?

Mulder turned his head just as Scully did. Their eyes locked once again,
they were
completely enraptured. She turned her head finally, but slid her hand
into his.

Kim began again:
Outside, day starts to dawn

Chris:
Your moon still floats on high

Kim:
The birds awake

Chris:
The stars shine too

Kim:
My hands still shake

Chris:
I reach for you

Together:
And we meet in the sky

Kim:
You are sunlight and I moon, joined here
Brightening the sky with the flame
Of love

Together:
Made of, sunlight and blue moon light

Mulder held Scully's hand tightly. He loved the feel of her skin on his,
even though it was
an innocent hand hold.

The play had really begun to get exciting now. The Vietcong were on the
outskirts of
Saigon, and the American's were preparing to leave Vietnam.

Chris had swore to Kim he would take her to America. They even performed a
fake little
marriage ceremony in front of the other girls from the club.

After having a run in with a Vietcong soldier, one who Kim had been bound
to when she
was thirteen, Kim and Chris retired back to her room. This would be their
last night in
Saigon. Tomorrow, they would probably be leaving for the US.

Scully sighed, this is going to be another little romantic scene, I can
see it coming.

Mulder still held Scully's hand. If he had his way, they would never let
go. But he knew
that wasn't practical.

On-stage, the music started again.

Chris:
In a place that won't let us feel
In a life where nothing seems real
I have found you
I have found you

Kim:
In a world that's moving too fast
In a world where nothing can last
I will hold you
I will hold you

Chris:
Our lives will change when tomorrow comes

Kim:
Tonight our hearts drown the distant drums

Chris:
And we have music all right,
tearing the night

Both:
A song
Played on a solo saxophone
A crazy sound
A lonely sound
A cry that tells us love goes on and on

Played on a solo saxophone
It's telling me
To hold you tight
And dance like it's the last night of the world

Chris:
On the other side of the World
There's a life where life still has worth
I will take you

Kim:
I'll go with you

Chris:
You won't believe all the things you'll see
I know 'cause you'll see them all with me

Both:
If we're together that's when
we'll hear it again

A song
Played on a solo saxophone
A crazy sound
A lonely sound
A cry that tells us love goes on and on

Played on a solo saxophone
It's telling me
To hold you tight
And dance like it's the last night of the world

Kim:
Dreams were all I ever knew

Chris:
Dreams you won't need when I'm through

Both:
Anywhere, we may be
I'll sing with you
A song-

Played on a solo saxophone
So stay with me and hold me tight
And dance
Like it's the last night
Of the World

Mulder was totally enraptured. He knew that something bad was going to
happen, it
always did. No one's life could be that perfect.

He realized that there was a little weight on his shoulder. He turned his
head from the
stage to glance at Scully.

Her eyes were still transfixed on the stage, but her head was resting on
his shoulder.

Mulder moved his arm a little so that it went around her shoulder. And
they sat like that,
watching Saigon fall to the Vietcong.

Chris was at the embassy, Kim at home waiting for him to call. When the
news spread
through the city that the Vietcong were there, she left to find Chris at
the embassy.

They weren't letting anyone in or out of the American embassy. Chris was
trying to call
Kim, she was trying to get in.

The helicopters were leaving with the Americans onboard. Chris as at the
gate, trying to
get out to find Kim. She was a mere 50 feet away, lost in the crowd trying
to flee the
country with them.

Finally, with one helicopter left to go, John grabbed Chris and dragged
him onboard. Chris
screamed Kim's name all the way up the steps but to no avail.

The helicopter lifted off the stage and Kim was left alone.

At the sight of the helicopter taking off, Mulder felt Scully stiffen.

'Oh God.' He leaned over to her.

"Hey, we can go if you want."

She looked at him. "No, I'm alright. Let's stay, please?"

He nodded. Of all the things that could happen in this play, they had to
have a helicopter
taking off.

It was like Cancerman and his goons laughing at them.

'Just a subtle reminder to you Scully what we have to hold over your head
in case you
don't stay in the lines.'

Mulder realized the lights had come up. People were starting to get up.

He reluctantly removed his grip from around Scully's shoulder.

"Ah, intermission. Do you want anything?"

She shook her head no. "No, can we just sit here for a while?"

He was a little confused. "Sure, no problem." He knew that the image of
the helicopter
shook her up more than she wanted to let on.

He settled back into his chair. Scully moved her head back to his
shoulder. He nestled his
arm around her and laid his head on top of hers.

'This feels so good.' Dana thought. 'We can get away with it here.' She
could feel the heat
from his body, the softness of his hair.

She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be this close to him
all the time.
**********

The people had begun to file slowly back into the theater. A dark haired
woman with light
colored eyes walked slowly with her husband at her side.

"Walter, isn't that Agent Mulder?" She asked.

Walter Skinner turned his head and saw who she was looking at. Sure
enough, there was
Mulder, with Scully cuddled into his shoulder.

Sharon Skinner couldn't help but grin. "Isn't that a cozy way for partners
to be in public?"

They settled into their seats. Skinner just watched the two from the
distance. They weren't
speaking, just being together.

"It is, but who is going to say anything to them?"

Sharon looked at him. "Well, look who has become a softy in his old age."

He grinned at her. "I won't tell if you won't."

She smiled. He put his broad arm around her as she nestled her head in his
shoulder.
**********

They were full swing into the second act.

Kim and her three-year old son Tam, were now in Hong Kong. She fled
Vietnam trying to
get closer to the USA.

In the meantime, Chris was in America, with his wife Ellen. He
continuously had
nightmares of his time in Vietnam, but was fully in love with his wife.

John pointed out to Chris that when they had returned, Chris completely
shut down. He
felt guilty about having left Kim.

But he met Ellen and she allowed his life to begin again.

John was working for the army still. He just gotten a request from Kim and
her son to
come to the US. Her son was 1/2 American, so she would be allowed a
passport.

John had to break this news to Chris, while Chris had to explain exactly
what had
happened to Ellen.

It was a mess. But Scully and Mulder were thoroughly enraptured not only
in the play, but
in each other. Feeling each other this intimately was new for both of
them, but they didn't
want the moment to slip away. It may be the last chance they had.

On stage, Ellen, Chris and John had arrived in Hong Kong. John told Kim
where to find
Chris.

Kim and Tam arrived at the hotel, but instead of Chris being there, Ellen
was.

Kim did not handle the fact that Chris was married to well. She begged
Ellen to take Tam.
He would have a better life in the US with her and Chris then he would in
the Hong Kong
streets.

Ellen refused. She told Kim that Tam should be with his mother, and that
she and Chris
wanted children of their own.

Kim screamed at Ellen that Chris had to come to her and tell her this
himself. She wouldn't
believe it from Ellen. She stormed out of the room with Tam in toe.

By the time, Chris and Ellen had reached Kim's room, they found Tam bent
over her body
crying. She had taken Chris's gun and shot herself.

This way, she knew Tam would end up with his father.

Ellen picked Tam up as Chris bent to Kim.

Chris:
What have you done Kim? Why?

Kim:
The Gods have guided you to your son

Chris:
Please don't die

Kim:
Hold me one more time

Chris scooped Kim's head and laid it gently in his lap. The audience was
collectively
holding their breath. Scully had tears in her eyes.

Kim:
How in the light of one night
have we come
so far?

Her head slumped down. Ellen walked over to Chris putting her hand on his
shoulder.

Chris stood to his wife. Chris studied Tam for a moment in Ellen's arms.

Ellen handed Tam to him, and they walked hand in hand out of the room, Tam
off to his
new life in the United States.

The curtain fell and the crown erupted into applause. Everyone jumped to
their feet.

Scully stood and wiped the tears from her eyes . The cast came out and
took their bows.

The crowd filed out of the theater. Scully and Mulder hailed a cab to take
them back to
the hotel.

In the taxi, they talked a little about the play. On their way out,
Scully had stopped at a
vendor and bought the soundtrack on CD.

They arrived at the hotel. When they arrived at their rooms, they both
paused outside
before entering.

"Well, I guess this is it." Mulder said.

"Yeah." She replied. This is ridiculous, she felt like she did on her
first date.

Mulder took the card out of his pocket. He stuck it in the lock on the
door.

She still watched him. He turned to say something to her.

"Mul-" "Scully-" They began simultaneously.

They grinned. "Ladies first" he said.

"I was just going to say, I'm not going right to sleep. I'm going to order
some tea and
listen to my soundtrack if you want to join me."

Mulder didn't have to think too long. He didn't want this night to end
anymore than she
did.

"Sure" he said.

She gave him another one of those beautiful smiles. 'If she keeps doing
that I'm going to
melt into a puddle right on the carpet.'

She unlocked the door to her room and they entered, neither sure of what
the rest of the
evening was going to hold in store for them.

Sun and Moon Part 3
By Debbie Gramlich (DGramL6525@aol.com)

Mulder sat on the sofa in Scully's hotel room. She had retreated to the
bedroom, only to reappear moments later in a sweatshirt and sweatpants.

Mulder removed his tie, balling it up and tossing it on the coffee table.

"Do you want some coffee? I can make some."

'Coffee, at this hour of the night?' "Yeah, I could use some." Anything
to
insure that this evening didn't end.

Scully fiddled around a little getting the little courtesy coffee pot
brewing.
She came over and sat next to him on the couch.

"Mulder, I- I wanted to say I'm sorry."

"For what?" He asked confused.

"For the way I tensed up back there. I mean, it was just a play and I
almost
lost it."

He looked at her for a minute. "Scully, it's okay to *lose it* every once
in a
while. I think that is what keeps us all sane."

She grinned at him. She stood and walked over to the CD player, placing
her 'Miss Saigon" soundtrack in. The music started.

"Those voices aren't the same we heard earlier." Mulder pointed out.

Scully shook her head, reading the inside cover of the CD.

"No, these are the original actors who played Kim and Chris, Lea Salogna
and Simon Bowman."

"I have seen Lea Salogna on TV movies before." Mulder said. What kind
of small talk was this?

Scully nodded. She went to the coffee pot and poured two cups. She fixed
Mulder's the way he liked it and gave it to him.

She sat back down. They sat in silence, listening to the music unfold
around them once again.

The second song on the CD was "The Heat is on In Saigon". Scully smiled
a little at the GI's singing about how they were going to pay $10 for the
showgirls.

"Can life ever be so carefree?" She asked.

"I don't know. I would like to think that sometimes we can kick back and
enjoy ourselves without having to worry about life in general."

"Like we did tonight?" He looked at her and couldn't help but smile at her
expression on her face after she said it.

"Yeah, I guess so."

Chris was in the middle of singing "Why God Why". Scully suddenly got a
serious look on her face.

"Mulder, I- I want to apologize for the way I acted tonight."

"Scully, I already told you that the helicopter would have-"

"No, not that. I was- too forward tonight. I shouldn't have leaned on you
the way I did. I'm sorry if I embarrassed you."

Mulder was stunned. "Scully, I enjoyed that as much as I hope you did."

Scully suddenly stood from the couch. She walked over to the window,
looking out at the stars.

"Oh, Mulder-"

"I know Scully. But don't you think it is time we talked about it?"

"Mulder, I-"

She stopped. Mulder decided to pick up the conversation.

"Scully, what happened tonight- it was an indication of what we are
feeling. We have been for a long time, but we're afraid. We can't be
afraid
forever."

She looked back out the window. "Mulder, there are so many things that I
want to say but....

Mulder felt his heart breaking. Maybe she didn't feel the same way he did?
Maybe she did just think of him as a friend?

Who was he kidding. There was no way that an intelligent, beautiful
woman like Dana Scully could fall in love with someone as screwed up as
he is.

He put his mug down on the table. "I'm sorry. Nevermind I brought this up.
Just try to forget I mentioned it."

Scully knew he was getting ready to leave. She couldn't let him go, not
before she told him the truth.

She walked over to him and dropped to her knees on front of him still
sitting on the couch. On the CD player, 'Last Night of the World' had
begun to play.

"Mulder, I- I feel the same way. It's just- there are so many things that
could get in our way."

Mulder looked at her. She was upset, trying to change her feeling into
words.

"If the bureau found out, they would separate us. It almost killed me to
not
be able to work with you everyday back when they shut the division
down."

Mulder nodded his head. He knew exactly what she meant. He remembered
it all too well.

Their faces were inches apart. She placed her hand on his cheek. Tears
began to spill from her eyes.

"Mulder, but believe me when I tell you. I do love you. I love you with
all
my soul. Everything that I am is yours."

Mulder's heart felt as though it would explode. He leaned forward just a
little and kissed her on the cheek. He could taste her salty tears.

"I love you too. But what are we going to do about it?"

Scully looked down towards the floor. Mulder knew what that meant.

She didn't haven't the faintest idea either.

He stood and walked towards the door. "I better go."

Scully felt as if something was missing. She couldn't let him go.

"Mulder, wait!"

He stopped and turned to her.

In a place that won't let us feel
In a life where nothing seems real
I have found you
I have found you

The slow music was the only noise in the room. They stood looking at one
another, letting the words sink into their souls.

In a world that's moving too fast
In a world where nothing can last
I will hold you
I will hold you

Scully rushed to Mulder. She put her hands behind his head and pulled his
lips down to hers.

Their first kiss was tender, sweet and filled with promise. They separated
momentarily, and both saw what they sought.

The promise of more to come.

Our lives will change when tomorrow comes
tonight our hearts drown the distant drums
And we have music alright
tearing the night

They kissed again. Their tongues played a silent little game of tag. She
slid
her hands down his back until she reached his bottom.

She hesitated, not sure of exactly how far to go. He leaned against her.
She could feel his hard erection.

And she knew. She knew exactly what both of them wanted.

To hell with the bureau, to hell with Cancerman. Tonight, it was just them
two of them.

His hands tenderly caressed her cheek. He slid them down to her stomach
and under her sweatshirt. He found her breast, and gently rubbed it
through
the soft lace of her bra.

Their kisses became more and more insistent. She moaned at the feel of his
hand toying with her breast. She brought her hands around and began
unbuttoning his shirt.

He gently pulled her hands away. He lead her towards the bedroom, his
eyes asking the final question.

She smiled at him while nodding her head. Once they reached the side of
the bed, their lips met again.

She broke the kiss and reached down and slid her sweatshirt over her head.
Mulder dropped his shirt and T-shirt to the floor.

Scully kissed his chest, using her tongue to tease his hardened nipples.
He
moaned, leaning into her.

His hands reached behind her, fumbling as he undid the clasp of her bra.
She pulled away for a minute to let her bra drop to the floor.

He drank in her form with hunger. She looked away a little shyly. Mulder
took her face in his hands.

"Don't look away from me. You're so beautiful... so so beautiful." They
kissed again. Mulder dropped her down to the bed.

His kisses dropped to her chest. He teased her nipple with his tongue,
then
moved over to the other.

Scully gasped at the pleasure. Her hands slid down his chest and stomach
until she found the button to his pants.

She undid it, then slid her hands in and under his boxers. She cupped his
erection and gently slid her hands up and down the shaft.

He moaned again. She was driving him crazy. He reached his hands down
to the waistband of her sweatpants. He slid his hands in and felt the lace
trim of her panties.

She thrust her hips towards his touch. He freed one hand and used it to
tug
her sweatpants and panities off. She lifted up to allow him to slip them
all
the way off.

She felt his fingers slide over her sotmach towards the center of her
pleasure.

She held her breath, waiting for the touch. His fingers slid over her
clitoris.
She gasped and moaned loudly.

Her hands pulled his pants down off his waist as far as she could reach.
She
pulled her foot up and hooked it in the waistband, tugging them down to
the floor.

Mulder raised his head and looked at her. "That was a neat little trick."

She smiled, using her hands to completely envelope him.

His fingers continued their exploration. Finally, she felt one finger
enter
her. He slid it out. She moaned louder. She felt two fingers enter her
this
time.

"God, Mulder! I want you in me" she gasped out. She didn't even
recognize her own voice.

His hands moved behind her. The slowly reached up and removed the
hairpins from her hair. It softly fell in a cascade on to the bed. He
stopped a
moment, to enjoy her beauty.

He kissed her again, hard. He trailed his lips to her breasts once again.
Teasing each one. She gasped and moaned.

Her hands continued to play with his erection. She kneaded his balls with
both hands, then slid her fingers along his shaft.

His kisses continued down her body until he reached her center. He
paused, raising his head to look at her.

She nodded her confirmation, thrusting her hips towards him again.

His tongue danced over her clitoris. She gasped and moaned. Mulder's
tongue darted in and out of her wet hot center.

She moaned again. She needed release. Mulder raised himself back up to
her face.

"Not yet angel" he whispered breathlessly.

They kissed again. Scully could taste herself on him. She raised her left
hip
again, using all her strength, she suddenly flipping them over.

She was on top now. Mulder's eyes were wide from surprise. She grinned
devilishly at him.

Two could play at that game.

She sucked on his nipples. She placed feather light bites on them before
moving down his body.

Suddenly, she was gone. Mulder opened his eyes and began to raise his
head. Suddenly she pounced, or her mouth did.

She took his hard erection in her mouth. He moaned and gasped, unable to
catch his breath.

She teased and sucked, tasting him.

"Dana, God" he gasped.

She ran her teeth gently along the length of him.

"Dana, I need, I got-"

She stopped and pulled herself back up to him. She kissed him and slid
herself along him. Readying her entrance at his erection, she suddenly
stopped.

"Oh damn, Mulder-" she breathed out.

He raised his head up confused. His mind was fuzzy and he could barely
see.

She hopped off the bed and stumbled to the dresser. She reached in and
pulled out a box of condoms.

He dropped his head to the bed. That was close.

She brought the box over to the bed. It was unopened, so she just ripped
the top off and dumped the contents onto the sheets.

She grabbed the little foil packet and tore it open. He reached for it but
she
stopped him.

"No, let me."

He nodded his head. She crawled back over to him throwing one leg over
so she was straddling him

She gently slid the condom on him. This aroused him even more, which he
didn't think was possible.

She brushed her middle against his erection. He moaned. She did it again.

"D-d-ana please."

She poised herself over him, and came down. Slowly, ever so slowly.

She moaned at the feeling of him entering her. She felt herself stretching
to
accommodate him.

They moaned simultaneously. The feeling of their connection almost
overwhelmed them.

They were still for a moment, just enjoying the sensation. Dana moved her
hips gently.

Her thrusts began slow, picking up their pace as Mulder began to thrust
his
hips against her.

He brought his hands up taking her each of her breasts. He kneaded them
with each thrust.

Breathing was becoming harder and harder for both of them. He felt Dana
beginning to shake.

She cried out, tremors rocking her body. She fell down on top of him, her
body covered in sweat.

Mulder took the initiative and rolled them over, his thrusts became harder
and harder as he tumbled over the edge into oblivion.

He collapsed. He couldn't catch his breath for several minutes. Finally,
he
raised his head up and looked at her.

Her eyes were still closed. She sensed him looking at her and opened them.

She smiled that wonderful beautiful smile. He smiled back. He began to
withdrawal from her but she stopped him.

"No, let's stay this way for a little while."

He nodded and kissed her cheek. They laid together for a few more
moments until he finally pulled away. As soon as he did she rolled to her
side and laid against him.

She kissed his cheek. "I love you Fox Mulder."

He smiled at her. "I love you too, with all my heart."

He reached under the sheet and withdrew the used condom.

"One down." He said jokingly.

"And a whole box to go" she finished.

They laughed together. A few moments later, they drifted off to sleep.
**********

She awoke the next morning to the feeling of a hand teasing her bare
breast. She started to panic, until she remembered the night before.

She sighed and leaned back. During the night she had turned and had her
back to Mulder's stomach. They were spooned together.

His hand continued to play with her breast. He leaned down and whispered
in her ear.

"Good morning beautiful."

She grinned. "If the day continues this way it will be a good morning."

His exploration of her breasts continued. He kissed the back of her head,
dropping his lips to the back of her ear, then to her neck.

She sighed and leaned back more. She could feel his erection pressing into
her backside. He felt so good.

She reached behind her under the sheets, finding his erection. She stroked
slowly, teasing him as he was her.

That game continued for a while, each one gasping and moaning at the
sensation.

He reached over and pulled her top leg over his, opening her to him. She
spread her other leg over farther, to allow him enough room.

She heard the little sound of foil tearing. She pushed her hips back to
him,
urging him on.

A moment later, she felt the slight pleasurable pain as he entered her
from
behind. He thrust gently, not wanting to hurt her.

She pushed back hard, making his thrusts more urgent. What had begun
slowly continued to escalate. Their thrusts were faster and harder each
time.

They both fell over the edge at the same time. Darkness rushing in as
their
bodies released.

He regained his senses first pulling himself out of her. She rolled over
on
top of him. They laid still, in each others arms until his stomach growled
loudly.

"Jeez Mulder, I thought you had enough to eat last night." She got a
wicked smile on her face.

He laughed. "We should order room service. Checkout is at noon. Then it
is back to Washington."

"And then what?" She asked.

He thought for a minute. "We can go back to our lives, forget this ever
happened."

She shook her head. "That isn't an option."

He smiled. "For me either. We are trained to keep secrets. If we are
careful, the bureau doesn't have to find out."

She nodded. "I can't imagine not being with you now."

"I know. Now, we won't have to worry about it. We'll be together no
matter what comes our way. I promise."

She smiled and rolled over to get the room service menu from the bedside
stand.

Once breakfast was served, they shared a shower together. A little shower
turned into a 45 minute affair. But they enjoyed themselves immensely.

Mulder threw his clothes on that he had the night before. Scully was still
in
the bathroom.

He walked to the door.

"Are you sneaking out on me Mulder?" Scully's voice innocently asked
from behind him.

He spun around. "Don't call me Mulder anymore, not when we aren't
working."

She looked a little confused. He continued.

"Back on the Tooms case, I was afraid to let you get too close to me. That
was why I told you not to call me Fox. I felt as if I had to distance
you"

She walked to him and put her arms around him. Her hair was still wet and
he could smell the sweetness.

"I love you Fox."

He kissed her. Her hands began their gently exploration again.

He reached back for the doorknob. "We have to check out in 15 minutes. I
have to get my stuff together."

She got a pouty look on her face, but then smiled. "Okay, I have to finish
getting dressed. We'll meet down in the lobby?"

He nodded and got out of the room before they lost all control once again.
**********

Dana walked into the lobby with her suitcase in hand. Mulder was waiting
for her.

They checked out and walked towards the door. "Mulder, you won't
believe what you did last night."

He looked at her slyly. "Which time?"

She shoved his arm. "I was drying my hair and saw that I have a hickey on
the back of my neck!"

He lost it. He giggled uncontrollably. She tried to look mad but couldn't
help but smile at the situation.

"Mulder, it's not funny! What if someone sees it?"

He stopped laughing and looked at her. "Who is going to be looking on the
back of your neck?"

"My mother will. Ever since I was a teenager and me and Melissa started
dating, she always was on hickey patrol."

Mulder laughed at the thought of Margaret Scully searching her daughters
for love bites.

Suddenly, something occurred to him. Dana had mentioned Melissa and
she didn't have that pained expression in her eyes.

He knew the pain was still there. He liked the idea that maybe somehow he
had made it bearable.

They walked outside and gave the valet the ticket to their car. As they
stood waiting, they were stunned to see AD Skinner come walking out of
the hotel with his wife.

"Good morning Agent Mulder, Agent Scully."

"Uh, hi sir. What brings you to New York?" Mulder asked nervously.

Sharon answered for them. "We just thought we would come and see some
of the sights."

Scully smiled at her. Their car arrived. "We'll see you tomorrow at work
sir."

Skinner nodded his head. The younger agents turned and began walking
towards their car.

A gust of wind came up and blowed Scully's hair around.

"Uh, Agent Scully?"

She and Mulder both froze. 'Oh God, he saw it' Scully thought.

They both turned to look at Skinner. He had a really pissed off look on
his
face.

Sharon caught his expression and put her hand on his arm.

Skinner continued. "Agent Scully, you should be more careful with those
curling irons. They can be dangerous."

Scully and Mulder's mouths dropped open. Sharon stifled a giggle.

Scully nodded her head and jumped into the car. Her and Mulder got the
hell out of the parking lot as fast as they could.

The last thing they saw in the rearview mirrors was Sharon and Walter
Skinner walking down the sidewalk towards their car with grins on their
faces.
