is, these characters belong to Chris Charter, and I just

ALEXANDRIA CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Scully looked down at her hands.
"You're a loser by choice." Eddie said. Scully
     looked up at the
monitor, Mulder's position not revealing anything.
Scully wanted to rip that smirk off of Eddie's
face...only it would probably morph back into something
else. She stepped aside as Mulder came out of the room
and signed the visitor's sign in sheet.
The tension would have to break between them soon.
     They were both on
edge. Scully walked beside Mulder to the car. She
sighed. "I know you don't need to be told this Mulder,
but you're not a loser."
He walked beside her a little way more, before
     commenting. He turned a
little toward her. "Yeah...but I'm no Eddie Van Blunht,
either."
Before Scully could reply, Mulder walked quickly
     out of the building.
She stood there for a stunned moment not moving, then
 walked to the car.
Mulder was waiting for her. Snappy retorts formed
     and disappeared in
Scully's mind. Obviously he thought the only way she
would like him in that way, was if he was someone else.
How wrong he was.
Scully sat in silence, thinking of all the things
     she wanted to say to
him, but was afraid to voice. She wanted to tell him
how much she admired him; how much she wanted to help
him. How much she wanted to writhe under him as he made
her body sing.
     "Scully!"
Scully felt her face redden. "Yes?"
Mulder glanced at her. "Are you all right? I said
     your name twice.
 You look flushed; what's wrong?"
Scully shook her head. "Nothing." This was
     messing everything up. She
didn't know how to act around him now. They needed
time apart. Time for her to get her head together, and
time for Mulder to be...well, whatever it was Mulder
wanted to be.
Mulder pulled onto the freeway heading towards the
      Federal Building.
"Can you take me home? I don't feel like going
     back to work today,"
 Scully said.
Mulder's knuckles turned white with his tight grip
      on the steering
wheel. "Are you sure you're all right?" He asked. His
voice sounded harsh, even to his own ears. He saw
Scully flinch.
"Yes, I....I just have a lot of paper work to
       do."
Mulder didn't look like he was convinced, but he
      took the turn-off to
her place anyway.
When they pulled up in front of Scully's
      apartment, she mumbled a
good-bye and raced up the stairs. She didn't want him
to see her cry. When she shut the door and heard the
car drive off, she broke down.

Mulder drove off. She could always throw him for a
     emotional loop.
Back in the jail, he'd sort of hinted to her about her
 feelings for him,
using Eddie as a jumping-off board. She hadn't said
anything, so he had gotten out of there as fast as he
could. Things were already tense between them, thanks
to Mr. Morpho.
This trip had just brought everything into the
     open. Now he knew she
had liked the Eddie him more than the real him. And
that hurt. It squeezed like a vise against his heart.
Because he had discovered his feelings for her. When he
had busted into her apartment and saw Eddie about ready
to do the horizontal bop with Scully, Mulder had
flipped. That was his woman Eddie was moving in on.
He saw red. He had dragged Eddie up, and handcuffed
him. He wanted to beat the shit out of him, but knew
that wouldn't have been a good idea. Scully was his,
damn it! He just had to prove to her that he could be
like Eddie..
But how was he supposed to prove it to her when she
     didn't even want to
go to work with him. He had thought she had meant she
wasn't feeling good because of what those bastards had
done to her but no, she just couldn't stand being around
him anymore.
Mulder didn't feel like going to work. He turned
     his car back down the
freeway and headed to his apartment.

     "Mulder."
     "It's me." Scully said nervously.
     "Scully?"
     "Yeah."
"What's going on?" Mulder's voice held a touch of
concern. "Could you come over to my place?" Silence
stretched on the other end before, "I'm on my
way." Scully hung up the phone. "It's now or
never." She said aloud. Fifteen minutes later,
there was a knock at the door. Scully opened it.
Mulder stood there in a black t-shirt and jeans. His
 hair was wet.
     "Is it raining?" She asked.
"I had just stepped out of the shower when you
called." That sentence sent images floating through
     Scully's head...a soapy
Mulder...a wet, slick Mulder; Mulder with a little
rubber duckie and bubbles.
Scully shook her head. Mulder walked into the
  apartment.
     "What's going on Scully?"
Scully motioned for him to sit down. He walked
over and sat on the left
side of the sofa. He sat, looking deceptively at ease.
He looked relaxed, but Scully could see his muscles
holding back the sleek strength she knew was in him. He
reminded her of a jaguar. Always searching, always
looking for something.
"Mulder, I asked you here because I need to talk to
     you about the other
night."
She saw him tense. No one else would have picked up on
it; but she knew by the way his breathing changed, a
slight shift in his posture, he was on the alert.
     "What about the other night?"
     "The one with Eddie."
Mulder looked down at the floor, then around the
     apartment. "Ok..if you
feel you need to talk about it - I'm here for you."
Scully took a deep breath. "Mulder, that night
     that Eddie came over
here. I truly thought it was you. I mean, he knocked
on the door and he had a bottle of wine. He said that
he wanted to talk..Just talk..." Scully paced back and
forth in front of the fireplace. "I had wanted that for
so long between us, I didn't think anything about it.
We drank some wine, and I talked about my life. That's
all he seemed interested in. You had never really
asked much about my life, so I started talking. I told
him stuff that I haven't told anyone else. And he
listened to me Mulder, really listened.
He didn't just brush off my words like something
 meaningless." She turned
and looked at him. "I'm not saying that you do that,
but sometimes when you're next to me, I feel invisible.
I don't think you do it intentionally but it's true."
She started pacing again. "We'd had some wine, and I
had let my guard down. Of course, I thought it was you.
I would never have done those things if it hadn't been
you." She stopped pacing and looked at their reflection
in the mirror. Her standing up, him seated. He was
looking at her intently. "When you burst in, he was
just about to kiss me. I was shocked. Not because you
burst in, well that was a bit of a start, but because
you had never made a pass at me. I was interested to
see what your lips would feel like on mine. What it
would feel like to have your body pressed closely to
mine." Their eyes locked in the mirror. Blue and Hazel
fighting an inner battle of wills.
Mulder slowly stood, and walked towards her. He
     stopped behind her, his
gaze still locked on hers. "Do you still feel that way?
Do you feel that way about me...not Eddie, but me...Fox
Mulder?"
Scully nodded. She couldn't believe the desire
that was in his eyes, or
the joy in her heart when she realized at last that
Mulder felt the same pulling too.
He stood so close behind her, she could feel the
     heat from his body
searing her back; all she had to do was lay her head
back, and she would be against him. But she didn't
move. Mulder slowly raised his hands up along the sides
of her arms, not touching her. He took a step forward,
his chest pressed to her back; she could feel his
arousal against her.
His hands touched her shoulders, his right hand
     skimming along the
front, sliding up her neck, turning her head to the
side. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes.
His lips gently brushed against hers once, as a spike of
desire washed through her at the contact. Mulder's lips
parted, hers responded; their tongues meeting, their
bodies aching for release.
Scully turned in his arms and he captured her to
 him...and tore his mouth
away from hers. They were both breathing heavily.
"You're mine, Scully. You have been since we first
     met. Since you
walked into my hotel room on that first case and trusted
me to look at those mosquito bites. I wanted you then
and I want you more now."
Scully felt her breath catch. He'd always wanted
     her. Just as much as
she had wanted him. She smiled.
"I love you Dana." He said as he crushed her mouth
     with his again.
Scully wrapped her arms around his neck, and moaned
 deep in her throat.
When they broke apart again, she smiled. "I've
     loved you since the
first time I walked into your office. When I heard they
were letting me assist you with the X-Files, I couldn't
wait to finally meet you face to face."
Mulder smiled down at her; that little boy smile
     that made her want to
do anything for him. She smiled back.
     "No more secrets Dana."
"No more secrets." She agreed, and they kissed to
     seal the bargain.
