I thought I'd write this story because there are sometimes weird nightly things going on, we just can't explain...dreams for instance, which are closer to reality than we had ever thought... Telepathy A night in universe Above them in the sky, something strange was going on. The moonlight broke through their windows and a wind breeze blew around their faces. Although they were at two different places, they could feel the nearness of each other. Closer and closer... 11:00 pm Lone Gunmen The Lone Gunmen were sitting in their van, watching the starful sky through a telescope. "Oh, man! Look at this!", Langly suddenly cried. He passed the telescope to Bayers, who was standing right behind him. As Bayers looked through, he could see something like a bright glowing straight line of stars. "That's amazing" "Yeah..." "What is this?", Bayers asked, "it looks like a line of stars" "Actually it is a line of our planets", Langly explained. "What do you mean by that?" Frohike suddenly showed interest in this event and pulled away the telescope, so that he could have a look through it. "What we see here guys, is a planet constellation that appears every 300 years!", Langly explained, "the planets turn into a straight line. This event influences people. This event let awake people's worst nightmares, deepest fears, strongest wishes and feelings." "Well, I haven't realized anything yet...", Byers said disappointed. "It just happens to certain people.", Langly answered, looking up to the sky. "I'm sorry, Bayers. You don't seem to be special enough", Frohike grinned. Bayers looked back angrily and sat down in front of his computer, to watch the event on the screen. "Enjoy this moment guys. At midnight it's gone and the next time we get so see this is in 300 years..." 11th November 98 10.30 p.m. Mulder's apartment Mulder was lying on his couch, watching TV and changing from one channel to the other. "Bullshit", he moaned and threw away the remote control. Now the room was filled with darkness and he wanted to sleep, but there was something that didn't let him to. When he closed his eyes, he saw Scully lying in bed. Suddenly he got a strange feeling and wanted to push his thoughts away, but there was always her in front of his eyes. He knew, that something was wrong at this time. He felt like something bad had happened...as he couldn't find any possible answer, he finally fell asleep. The shade of a woman turned into a dim light. It was Scully. She was standing in a corridor of a hospital. Her face was pale, her muscles loose. She was wearing a hospital gown. Her face was pale, her hair was strained and she felt very weak. There was fear in her eyes. She feared of what would happen next. In her hand, she was holding files of her censure. "Washington Memorial Hospital" was written on them. Slowly, she began to move along the corridor. She heard voices coming out of the sick rooms. Finally she stopped in front of a telephone box and picked up the receiver. She dialed Mulders number. As Mulder answered at the other end of the line, Scully tried to answer, but no word came out. "Scully is that you?", he asked. "Yes..." "Scully I've tried to reach you, but you were not available. Where have you been?" "I...", Scully started, "I was working at home", she lied. "So have you examined the dead body?" "No...I had no time.", her voice was getting thinner. "Scully, you promised me. I need the autopsy report immediately!" "I'm sorry..." For a moment, Mulder didn't say a word. Scully could hear his breath, as her partner sighed at the other end of the line. "Scully, I want you to go to Russia with me. I have our flight tickets right here!" Scully got a bad feeling. "Mulder I can't.", she said keeping herself out of crying. Mulder had this confused look in his face. "What?" For an instant, Scully took all her voice she had to keep on speaking. "I can't work on this any longer." "Scully? Why? What is it?" "I just can't." "Scully, I need you on this. You know, what this work means to me. You can't stop it right now." "I have to." Scully could feel a tear rolling down her cheek. "We are close to something. I know it. Don't you trust me anymore?" "Mulder, I do!" "No, you don't. Why do you want to stop our work now?!" "I just think that this case isn't worth investigating." "Is there anyone else, you are working for?" Mulder voice got strict. Scully wanted to say, that there was no-one else, but she couldn't say anything. "Who are you working for, Scully? For me? For the Secret Service?! D.O.D.?! It's them, isn't it? The smoker and his sick friends!" "No! Mulder, please!" "You've been lying to me. Haven't you? You've been working for them the whole time and I trusted you. Go Scully! I will do this without you. You've never treated my work seriously!" Scully couldn't keep herself straight anymore. "You misunderstand!", she cried. Then there was silence at the end of the line. "Mul - !" It was too late, Mulder had hung up. Scully tried to stand straight, but somehow she felt weaker and weaker. Before she burst into tears, she still was able to put the receiver back onto the telephone. This couldn't be true, she thought. Then she looked up along the corridor and started moving. As she took one step forward, she could feel her blood, raising up her head. She suddenly felt dizzy and grabbed for the telephone, but she couldn't keep herself straight and finally collapsed onto the ground of the hospital corridor. In the next moment there was darkness around her. The last thing she realized, was a nurse trying to lift her up and checking her pulse. "I need a stretcher and a 15 ml injection immediately!" With tired eyes Scully gazed at the mirror in front of her. Her nose had stopped bleeding...also the blood that had run out of her mouth...but it's trace was still visible in the basin of her bathroom. She was in her underwear, staring at her reflection. This wasn't her, she thought...not herself...but she just had to accept this matter of fact. In her face, there was sorrow and fear. She feared of what Mulder was doing now. Maybe he was in a bar and got drunken himself. Mulder had said bad things to her. Things, that really hurt her. She hadn't told him what she wanted to say. No-one knew that her disease had gotten worse...and no-one ought to know. It was the end-stadium. It was just a question of time until...if Mulder just knew. She didn't want to pass self-pitied discussions with anyone...but she felt that she was falling deeper and deeper and somewhere down at the bottom she was screaming for help. At this very moment, she heard somebody pounding at her door. Scully looked up, grabbed her bathrobe and hurried into the living room. She glanced at her watch. It was 10.45 pm. Without looking through the peephole, she unlocked the door and pulled it open. Mulder was standing in front of her. Leaning against the door, his shirt loose open, his hair twisted and his warm green eyes staring on her. "Mulder! Come in!" She grabbed his arm and pulled him into her living room. "I'm so happy to see you..." , Scully whispered "why aren't you in Russia?" "I canceled my flight.", Mulder answered. Scully quickly took a step toward him and hugged him. Then she let him go and Mulder looked down at her with a worried face. "Scully, I need to talk to you!" Before he could go ahead, Scully said: "Wait a minute, I just get dressed." As she turned back, to hurry into her bedroom, Mulder caught her by her arm and pulled her softly back to him. "Scully, I know what's happened." Scully looked away from him, not breaking his gaze. "I've just heard it. I was a fool to believe, that you were working against me!" Mulder desperately glanced at her and lifted her chin with his fingers, so that she looked straight in his eyes. "Scully, I know what you are going through." Mulder nearly whispered and his voice was very dump. "I'm so sorry...if I had known...I..." "I'm sorry for what I've said to you." Scully shook her head. She wanted to say, that he hadn't to apologize, when he added: "Why haven't you told me?", he begged. "I was scared...I didn't know what to say, because I know that this work means so much to you" "No...Scully, you mean so much to me." Mulder hugged her and nestled his body softly to hers. "I'm just so sorry." Scully had forgiven him and before he could continue, she quickly let her fingers rest on his lips, so that he couldn't keep on speaking. "I'm so sor.." "Mulder shut up and kiss me..." Scully whispered, and reached out to press his lips on her mouth. Mulder didn't respond, he just pulled her in for a warm embrace. They closed their eyes and kissed. "I'm so sorry", Mulder whispered again and kept on kissing, "...so sorry..." It seemed, as if they lost control of themselves. Mulder took her in his arms and they kissed wilder and wilder...falling into passion. Mulder embraced her back and started kissing a trace along her neck. "Mulder, do you want me...?" Scully whispered breathlessly. Mulder glanced into her shining eyes. "Yes, but..." "Yes, or no." She dragged his arm and pulled him into her bedroom. "Yes...", he breathed, his mouth covering hers again. For a moment, she stopped kissing him and started to undress him. Button by button she started to undo his shirt, tearing it off his bare chest and slid out of her bathrobe. They were standing in front of Scully's bed. Scully in her underwear and Mulder in his boxer shorts. As Mulder wanted to reach out for her again, they lost their balance and dropped like in a slow time motion onto the bed. Mulder falling over her, Scully put her arms around his naked back. Mulder kissed her neck and whispered: "I love you..." Scully didn't respond. She just glanced the her bedside watch: 11.14 pm Staring at it she just thought about, what she was doing now. This was crazy...mad...totally out of control. But in the back of her mind, she couldn't really control herself...for some reason her desperate scream got less hearable. Finally, she gave up thinking. "I love you, Mulder..." she whispered in his ear and closed her eyes. 11.30 pm: Scully's bare silhouette shone on underneath Mulder's body. Her blanket around them. She had bother to keep her breathing under control and sought for hold on Mulder's shoulders. Mulder just kissed her lips. For a brief moment, Scully looked into Mulders eyes, then closed them and let everything happen. She could feel his warm breath sliding down her shoulder, her chest, her belly...her body. Mulder slid up to her face again and kissed her lips. Scully leaned into his touch. Her hands were everywhere on his body and she could feel him inside of her. She held him tight. Then she embraced him and whispered: "Just hold me and never let me go..." 12.00 pm midnight She was breathing hard, her clothes were soaked with cool sweat. As it turned to 12.01 am, Scully suddenly jerked. She opened her eyes, trying to get her breath under control. For a brief moment, she didn't know, where she was. Puzzled she looked around. As she realized, that she was lying in her bed, she sighed again and closed her eyes... it had been dream...she had been dreaming...just a dream. She shook her head. But after all this, she had a feeling, that she had never had before. Trying to fall asleep, she turned to the other side and glanced at her watch. Now it was two minutes past midnight. After some time, she finally fell asleep and the shadows of the night filled her room again. 12.00 pm midnight Mulder was turning around on his couch. As he moved once again, he fell off the couch and landed uncomfortably on the floor. In a shock, he opened his eyes and was staring at his watch, that was standing in front of his eyes. It was one minute after midnight. Tired, he pulled himself back onto the couch, when he first realized, what's really happened. "What a weird dream", he mumbled, staring at the wall above him. He was thinking about this dream. Did he really feel this way? Some minutes later, he couldn't stand the darkness and finally fell asleep. 12.01 am, Outer space Dark shadows of the planets moved in front of the moonlight. Slowly they turned into their normal positions and everything seemed like nothing had happened before. 12th November 8.30 in the morning Scully's apartment: Scully hurried into her living room, when her door suddenly opened. She felt a little bit dizzy about last night, when she saw her partner entering her apartment. "Morning...", he welcomed her. " Good morning", Scully answered. "Did you examine the dead body?" "Yeah...yes. I...I just need the autopsy report", Scully answered quickly, without looking up to her partner. Then stopped in front of her desk, to search for the report. On the desk, there were lots of high pilled files. As Mulder entered her living room, he had a brief look through Scully's opened bedroom door. Scully didn't pay any attention to her partner, who was standing in front the wide opened door, focusing her bedroom. Then he looked up to Scully, who was searching hopelessly for the file. "Come on", she mumbled nervously and finally pulled out the report. She took the file and turned in Mulder`s direction. As she turned her body, she pushed the pilled files with her elbow and all the papers dropped down onto the floor. "Damn it!!" she yelled angrily and kneeled down, to stuff them together. Mulder had watched her whole actions. "Little nervous, Scully, aren't we?" he asked amused and lifted his eyebrows. Scully put the papers back onto the desk and passed Mulder by into her bedroom. Mulder followed her. "I'm alright...", she quickly answered, still angry about her bad luck. Then she took her blazer, which was hanging down her chair. Suddenly she realized, that her partner was staring at something. She followed Mulders gaze until both of them were staring at her bed. In this moment thousands of thoughts flashed through their minds. Scully only paid a brief attention, then quickly looked away. With the file and the blazer in her hands, she passed Mulder by. "Let's go", she said and hurried out of the room. Mulder followed her into the hallway. "Here you are" Scully handed the report to Mulder, when they entered the elevator. Without saying a word, Mulder took it and leafed through the file. He was standing in the right corner of the elevator, Scully in the left. With crossed arms, she focused her partner...from his feet, up to his head. She reminded her dream. She bit her lip and then looked away. Mulder didn't pay any attention on the report any more. He looked up and gazed at Scully, who was standing straight up in the other corner of the elevator. Weird dream, he thought and then the elevator stopped and they got out of it. Outside, they headed for Mulder's car. Mulder went to the driver's door and started searching for the car keys in his pocket. Scully watched him and in some way she felt entertained. Some minutes went by, when he finally got them pulled them out. As he wanted to stick the key into the keyhole, he glanced at Scully. At this moment he lost the keys and they dropped onto the ground. "Little nervous, Mulder?", Scully asked and smiled amused. Mulder quickly picked them up and opened the door. "No, but you didn't sleep well last night.", Mulder answered and got into the car. Scully did the same. "What?!", she asked indignantly. "Did a monster follow you into your dream, Scully?" Mulder grinned and shook his head. After a second, Scully answered annoyed: "Maybe!!" Mulder nodded and turned on the car. "What did you dream?" Scully considered whether or not to answer this question, but then she answered: "Not the same as you!" "Are you sure about this?", Mulder asked and looked at her. Scully didn't answer. "Let's go", she commanded angrily, looking out of the window. Mulder drove out of the parking lot and made their way down to the street to the FBI headquarters. Above them far away beneath their cosmos the sun came rising to complete the circle of planets in the endless universe... The end. Hope you liked it, Kemariah 1
