Terminal Interlude too

Mulder crammed his carry on bag into the overhead compartment,
with all the delicacy of a charging rhino, and dropped is lean
frame into the seat next to Scully.
She sat staring out the window with one hand curled to her mouth,
hiding the smile she wore.
"Our game is not over." he declared in a stage whisper.
Without missing a beat, she turned to him.
"Hit me with your best shot, Pat Benatar." The smile was hidden
no longer.
Damn she's good he thought, fumbling for a comeback.
"Let's get it on, Marvin Gaye." He replied.
"Foolish games, Jewel."
"Quit playing games with my heart, Backstreet Boys."
"Open the eyes of my heart, Sonicflood."
"Can't you see, Marshall Tucker Band." he answered.
"In your eyes, Peter Gabriel." she smiled.
"Ohh. Good song."
"One of my favorites."
"Scully, I didn't know you listened to Pete." his head was cocked
slightly, looking at her.
"We've never really talked music before."
"There's a lot of things we've never done before."
"You're turn, unless you are forfeiting."
"Never! Ummm.. Can't take my eyes off of you, Lauryn Hill."
"Somebody's watching me, Rockwell."
"Probably me, Sting."
"You and only you, John Berry." she answered.
He thought for a moment.
"Just to see you smile, Tim McGraw." If she only knew how true it
was, he thought.
"I'm 'Seeing things for the first time', The Black Crows."
"The first time ever I saw your face, Roberta Flack." he said
with a secretive smile.
"When can I see you again, Babyface." she was really starting to
like this game.
"Call me, Blondie."
"Just to hear you say that you love me, Faith Hill and Tim
McGraw." Careful Dana, she thought, this is hitting too close to
home.
Mulder gave her a strange look.
" 'What I meant to say', is what I didn't say at all." Wade
Hayes. he answered, his eyes locked onto hers.
"You say it best, 'when you say nothing at all', Alison Krauss."
"Enjoy the silence, Depeche Mode." he answered.
"Breaking the silence, Queensryche."
"Cum on feel the noise, Quiet Riot."
"Baby come to me, James Ingram"
"In the arms of the 'Angel', Sarah McLachlan." he countered.
"Hold me, Fleetwood Mack."
"You really got a hold on me, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles."
"Holding out for a hero, Bonnie Tyler." she grinned.
"Hero of the day, Metallica." He raised his arms, and flexed
them, in a bodybuilder pose.
"Wake up, Korn." she laughed.
"Dreaming with my eyes wide open, Clay Walker." he pouted.
"Clash with reality, Pantera" she was still laughing softly.
"Unbreak my heart, Toni Braxton." his pout deepened.
"How can you mend a broken heart, Al Green."
She's too damn good at this, he smiled.
"Gimme all your lovin, ZZ Top."
"Sometimes love just ain't enough, Don Henley and Patti Smythe."
"Sexual Healing, Marvin Gaye." That's too far, he thought.
"I want your sex, George Michael." Her eyes dared him to top that
one.
"I wanna sex you up, Color Me Bad." No, my heart is not racing,
he repeated to himself over and over.
"I wanna be down, Brandy." she looked calm and cool, on the
outside anyway.
"Ummm..." He was drawing a complete blank.
"Come on Mulder. You can do it." she teased.
"Sex machine, James Brown."
"I wanna fuck you like an animal, Nine Inch Nails."
That was it.
"Jesus Scully, I can't do this any more. I give!" He lowered his
voice, when several people turned to glance at him.
"You win!" he whispered to her, his face flushed.
She leaned in close to him, her breath soft against his ear.
"What do I win?" she whispered.
"What do you want?" he almost groaned the question.
"Hmmm.. let me think" she sat back, chewing delicately on the tip
of her finger.
"Actually, what I want would be a repeat of my last song title."
Mulder leaned his head back and closed his eyes. Dear God! He'd
done this to himself.
"You're killing me Scully."
"You look pretty lively to me." she glanced over his body, "Some
parts more than others."
"Ha ha."
"Hey, you started this." she gloated.
"I know. But you definately finished it."
The plane began to taxi down the runway.
God it's going to be a long flight, Mulder thought.
