Author's Notes:  Another in what I hope to 
be a long string of video inspired pieces.  
This was born out of another one of Lyle's
videos that is also set to the Pearl Harbor 
soundtrack.  I apologize for not knowing
the title.  Basically I wrote the emotions that
were running through my head as I watched 
the scenes in this video, as I watched suffering
turn into life.  Hopefully this will strike some cord
with you as well.

here we go...

"This is but one Lifetime"

A cold grave, lights in the sky, the many times searching for light
Running away from the danger that plagues them both
Exploding cars, exploding bullets, 
Gentel caresses to the dying and ill
Following amublences, holding her still

Pain tearing at a soul
Losing one sunrise never made men whole
Tears that burn her cheeks so still
His arms encircle her

The look in their eyes as they chase the demons
Protecting her, protecting them both
All that they have fought for lost
only to be gained once more

Sucking in the emotion
holding at gunpoint
saving them both
She is ill, she is dying
he holds her hand
So many times they both have laid dying

The pain rolls down his face
emotion pounding their bodies
Over and over it crashes them to the earth
Time and time again they must get back up 
He would die for her, and she would die for him
He says he owes her, she has given him everything
Carrying life within her womb, he tumbles out into open arms
Holding them close as the minutes ease by
This is but one lifetime.
