BLAIR --------------------------------------------- FBI Building X-Files Basement Office Monday afternoon "Dana, it's me. Is Mom and Dad there?" Fox William Mulder Jr. asked, in a low voice. He was on his cell phone to his fraternal twin sister, Dana Katherine Mulder. He was at the hostage negotiations with his fellow agent, Chris Krycek, at Total Time Travel Agency. His hazel eyes had a look of concern as he darted at Chris, and he was becoming increasingly worried about this case for some reason. He nervously stroked his brown hair. Dana Katherine Mulder was in the X-Files basement office. "Yes, they're here. In fact, they sent me down to the basement office--excuse me, your office to get a file on Mom's abduction. Daddy wanted to see it again for some reason." "I'll say Dad has a very good reason to see the file," Fox Jr. sighed, concerned. He hoped that his sister wouldn't hear the concern and the worriedness in his voice. No such luck. "Fox, is there something wrong?" Dana asked, as she twirled a lock of her red hair. "Dana, the man that is holding these people hostage is Duane Barry's son who is named Duane Barry," Fox Jr. sighed. "I guess that Mom and Dad were not the only one who named their kids after themselves." He tried to see the humor in this situation, but to no avail. "Dana, I think that you better tell Mom and Dad what's going on over here." He paused. "Can you call Danielle for me?" He was referring to his partner, Danielle Lesky. "You want her to come over there?" Dana asked. "No way. I just want her to know what's up," Fox Jr. replied. He knew that his sister felt that he needed back up in case something goes wrong. "Chris is covering for me, and he's capable." "I don't trust him," Dana sighed. "I think that I will tell Mom and Dad that I am going over there." "Mom and Dad won't like it. You know that," Fox Jr. sighed. "So?" Dana asked. "I am going. After all, I am your big sister. Don't forget that. I'll talk to you later." She clicked off her cell phone, picked up the file on her mother's abduction. She walked out of the basement office, and took the elevator up to the X-Files Division to talk to her parents. She knocked on the door, and she entered the office. "Mom. Dad. Is it all right that I can come in?" Dana Scully-Mulder looked up at her daughter, Dana, and smiled at her. "We were just talking about you..." "Oh?" Dana asked, arching her eyebrows. Scully smiled. Her daughter was so much like her from the similar looks right down to same kind of mannerisms as she does. "You remind me so much of myself when I was young, Dana." "I know that I look like you, Mom. That's why you and Daddy named me after you," Dana replied. She always loved the similarities that she and her mother had shared. It always bring them together. "That's right, but I doubt that's what you wanted to ask us about," Scully replied. Dana gave the file to her father, Fox Mulder. "Here is that file you wanted. What do you want with it?" "I need to check some things regarding the case that your brother is working on," Mulder replied. "Mom. Dad. I don't think that this case is a very good idea," Dana sighed. "I am worried about Fox. He could be in danger!" Scully was concerned for both her twins. "I know that you are worried about your brother, Dani, but he was called in to do the hostage negotiations..." "When I found out through my own brother's partner, Danielle Lesky, that he is conducting hostage negotiations for someone who thinks they have been abducted by aliens. Not only that but the guy is very paranoid and dangerous, well, you'd be worried too!" Dana Mulder sighed. "Mom. Dad. Get him out of there!" She was very close to her twin brother, and she was worried for his safety. As usual. Her brother had not only inherited their father's handsome looks, but the tendency to fly off the handle. Mulder got up from his desk and he held his oldest daughter. She looked so much like her mother, he reflected. Both of them had the same china doll features, the same blue-green eyes, the same auburn hair, and the same skeptic personality. He wasn't surprised when Dana told them that she didn't want to go into medical practice so she, like her mother, went to teach foresic pathology at Quantico following her FBI training. He wanted to protect his oldest from what happened to his wife several years ago from that madman named Duane Barry. And now his son is experiencing the same problems. He shuddered at the thought. "Dana, your brother is one of the best profilers in the Violent Crimes Unit and this X-Files Division combined. He knows what to do and not to do in cases like this..." "I thought that it was you, Daddy," Dana replied. "How come you are not there?" "I had done so many hostage negotiations even before you and your brother came into our lives," Mulder sighed. "I am not in the field anymore, but Fox is along with yourself and your friend, Danielle Lesky." "Danielle isn't even there, Mom and Dad!" Dana cried out. "She is at Quantico. Remember you assigned Chris Krycek." Dana Scully-Mulder frowned at this news. "Fox, honey. Can I talk to you in private for a second?" "Will you excuse us, Dana?" Mulder asked his daughter. Dana nodded. "It's fine with me." Mulder escorted his wife out of the office, and walked into their old office where their son took over the X-Files basement office. Of course, they are now co-supervisors of the X-Files Division with matching desks and nameplates in an upstairs office. It was an anniversary present from Skinner when the twins turned one. "What is it, Dana?" "How come you didn't tell me that Danielle isn't Fox's partner anymore?" Scully exclaimed. "Skinner wanted me to assign her to Quantico for a month," Mulder sighed. "So I agreed." Actually, it was his idea for transferring Danielle Lesky to Quantico to help out their daughter. "But why? Dana is already at Quantico," Scully replied. She saw a look on Mulder's face, and she knew what he was thinking. She sat down on her old chair. "This was your way of protecting both Dana and Danielle." Mulder nodded, and he hugged his wife. He always remembered how he felt when his Dana was missing. He didn't want to see any of his children and their friends to go through what he and Dana went through. "It's bad enough that Fox has to deal with hostage negotiations, but no one wanted to touch this case. You know why, Dana." "I think that I know, Fox," Scully sighed. "You are afraid something might happen to both Dana and Danielle." She noticed a look across her husband's face, and she knew that he was holding something back. "What is it, Mulder?" She reverted to her old way of calling her husband when they became partners. "I hadn't told you why Dani was so upset," Mulder sighed. "Because she feels her twin brother will be in trouble..." "Not only that, Dani has every reason to be afraid. You know that both Chris Krycek and William Mullen didn't want to touch that case so I had to give it to Fox. The reason being that the person who is holding all those people hostage is none other than Duane Barry Jr." "That's why you didn't want Dana to go near the hostage negotiations!" Scully exclaimed. "You are afraid that Dana might be abducted like I was, and you are trying to prevent it." "Is that so wrong?" Mulder asked. "No, you are just being the devoted father that I know you are," Scully replied. She hugged him. "Sometimes we still think of Dana and Fox as our babies. Don't we?" "I know. I remember when they were born," Mulder smiled. He stroked Scully's auburn hair. "Me too," Scully replied. They walked into their office, and saw Dana talking on the cell phone. "How is he holding up, Chris?" "He is fine, Dana. How are you?" Chris asked. "I'm fine," Dana sighed. In truth, she wasn't. She looked up, and noticed her parents walking in. "Look, Chris, I have to go. My parents came back from their meeting. 'Bye!" She turned off her cell phone. "Dana, did you tell him a Scully white lie?" Scully asked. "I know what you are afraid of. I am afraid of the same thing." "I'm just worried," Dana replied. "I can't stand back and do nothing!" "You are doing something, Dana," Mulder sighed. "Just being there for him. Your brother is an intelligent man, and he knows what would happen if you go storming off to save him. Chris Krycek is there, and he will help Fox if he needs to." "Mom, Dad, I have to go there. I don't know why, but something tells me that I have to. I will be all right but my twin needs me," Dana sighed. She saw a concerned look on her mother's face. "Mom, I will be all right. After all, I have the strength of your beliefs and your truth is in me." "All right, Dana. You can go. Bring your gun and your badge," Scully sighed. "Dana?" Dana placed her FBI wallet and her gun in her tan colored trenchcoat, and turned to face her mother. "What Mom?" "Do me a favor, Dana. Be careful." "I will, Mom," Dana replied. "Dad, can you please call Danielle to tell her about Fox?" "I will," Mulder replied. He watched his daughter leave the office, and he hoped that she will be safe. Somehow, he doubt it. "I hope that she will be all right, Dana." "She will be," Scully replied. She unconsciously touched her cross necklace. "She has my strength of beliefs." Total Time Travel Monday afternoon Fox William Mulder Jr. wondered what he was getting himself into as he entered the travel agency over Chris Krycek's objections. "Fox, your parents are going to be upset if you do this!" "My Dad had done this when he encountered his father. I can get into his mind to try to understand why he did this. I know what I am doing, Chris," Fox Jr. replied, as he entered the building. He saw Duane Barry Jr. threatening to kill some of the workers. "Why don't you let them go so you can have me as your hostage." "Why?" "It will be worth it to you," Fox Jr. replied. "I know that your father was a victim of alien experimentation." Duane Barry's son was several years older then he, but his youth will be in his favor as well as his twin's. "How did you know that?" Duane asked. "You know, I think that I had seen you before." "I don't think that you have. You're older than me so I doubt that you and I travel in the same circles," Fox Jr. replied, as his cell phone off. "Dana?" Dana was driving towards the travel agency. "Fox, Mom and Dad let me out of the office to help you. Chris called me and he told me what you had done!" "Dana, it's not a good time," Fox Jr. replied. He lowered his voice a notch. "I am trying to get inside his head." "Be careful, Fox. I don't want anything to happen to you. We will get you out of there," Dana replied. She turned off the cell phone. Fox Jr. turned off his cell phone. He saw that Duane was looking at him. "What?" "Who is Dana? I think that I heard that name before." "Dana is my sister. Actually, she is my fraternal twin sister," Fox Jr. smiled. "She doesn't look like me though. She looks so much like our Mom. In fact, she is named after her." "Is your Mom dead? Why else would she have the same name?" "No," Fox Jr. replied. "She's alive. Both of my parents are alive. My parents thought that it would be fitting to name us after them." "My Mom is still alive, but you know my Dad isn't," Duane replied. "After my father was killed, they came to get me. Several times. I even have proof. They inserted something in me." "What did they insert?" Fox Jr. replied. "An implant. In fact, several can be found..." Outside at the Total Time Travel Agency Monday evening. 5:30 p.m. "Dana, I am sure that it will be all right," Chris Krycek assured his fellow FBI agent. "I hope so. I really do hope so," Dana sighed. "I did some digging, Chris. Duane Barry is not who Fox thinks he is. He is paranoid, and very upset what the FBI had done to his father. His father is the one who kidnapped my mother. If it weren't for him, my mother wouldn't have to deal with her cancer." "Dana, calm down," Chris sighed. "This isn't like you." He put his arms around her shoulder. "You know that." He saw Fox Jr. walking out with Duane Barry Jr, and taking him to the ambulance. "Fox is out." "Fox!" Dana exclaimed. She walked toward her brother. "Everything ok?" "I think so," Fox Jr. replied. "I am taking down to see the doctor to extract this implant of his." Dana whispered to him. "Are you sure that he was abducted by aliens, Fox? Duane hates FBI. He blames the FBI for his father's death. This is a ploy to get the son of the man who...pretty much ruined his father." "That could be said of us, Dana. For what Duane Barry did to our mother and what he put our father though," Fox Jr. replied. "I know what I am doing. Do you know what you're doing?" "Of course I do," Dana replied. Duane Barry Jr. looked at her, and saw the resemblance to Dana Scully. Is she the daughter of Dana Scully? His revenge started to map out in his mind. He will kidnap her. All he had to do was to find out where she lives... Northeast Georgetown Medical Center Dr. Calista Summers' Office Monday evening 7:00 p.m. "Hi Dana. Fox," Dr. Calista Summers looked up as they walked into her office. She was their source of information, and was a college friend of Dana's when she attended medical school at University of Maryland. She picked up the implant, a metallic chip. "I found this thing in Duane Barry. I don't know what it is so I thought that the both of you might know what it is." Fox Jr. replied. "You found this in Duane Jr.?" "Yes, I did." Dana looked at it. "More tests should be done. I can take this to Quantico, and show it to Agent Steve Pendrell." "Dana, I can do that. I am a lot closer to Quantico than where you live," Fox Jr. replied. "You look tired. Perhaps, you need to go home to get some sleep." "It's no problem. Really. I will take it tomorrow morning when I show up for work," Dana sighed. 24 Hour Grocery Store Annapolis, MD Monday, 9:30 p.m. Dana was shopping for some things that she needed at her apartment like ice cream and soda. As she went to the counter to pay for her items, she impulsively took out the metallic implant to scan it. The machine went beserk, and a serial number came up. "I wonder what this is..." Dana Mulder's Apartment Annapolis, MD Monday, 10:21 p.m Dana walked into her apartment with the bag of groceries which she immediately put away in the refrigerator. This apartment was the same one that her mother had used to live before she married to Fox Mulder and had her and her brother, Fox Jr. She checked her answering machine, and she had couple of messages. The first message was from her mother, Dana Scully-Mulder. "Dana, it's me. Your mother. Your Dad and I want to know if you are all right," Scully said, concerned. "Call when you get a chance." Another message, from Dana's fellow agent, Danielle Lesky. "Hey, Dana, is everything all right? Let me know." Dana picked up her cell phone, and dialed her parents' house. "Mom, Dad, it's me. This piece of metal from Duane Barry Jr. I ran it through a scanner, and some kind of serial number came up. What the hell is this thing, Mom and Dad? It looks like someone was trying to catalogue him..." Suddenly, the light turned off and all the light was moonlight shining through the windows. She heard a crash through the windows, and Dana screamed when she saw Duane Barry Jr. grabbed her from behind. "Mom. Dad. HELP!!!!!" As she screamed, the phone went to the floor. He bound and gagged her. He took her while she was trying to break free but no avail, and he put her in the trunk of the car. Doing so, her cross necklace fell into the trunk with her.
