From lone_jaguar@geocities.com Thu Dec 12 22:14:04 1996 ************************ Two Agents And a Waterbed Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are property of CC, 1013 Productions and FOX Broadcasting. Please give any and all character credit to them... Wow, that hurt. And sure, take me to court. It'll give me more of a life that I have now. :-) Spawned from a night of pool, Game of Life, chocolate and lying on a waterbed (hence the title). Shows you just how twisted I really am. It's all my friend's fault (not to mention her twisted mind). Thanks for your help Kate! :-) Rating is PG -- Just for fun... Nothing offensive... Mind candy, if you will. "Plot? We don't need no stinking plot!" --The Dragon Summary: Scully kicks Mulder out of her bed... The hard way... Comments, suggestions and flames are always welcome. Though, I should add, the flames will be used for various things. Warm my house, roast weenies, toast marshmallows (even if I don't like them that much) and well . . . amuse me because I love fire. :-) Two Agents And a Waterbed Nicole van Dam aka The Warfarine Dealer lone_jaguar@geocities.com Houston, Texas 11:00pm Dana Scully dropped her bags immediately upon opening the door. After reviewing the case file, it sounded extremely draining. Probably almost as bad as the way over. And that was just a blast. First, the flight was delayed for four hours, then, they had a two hour layover in Nashville, then it took them another two hours to get a rental car and hotel room... And they hadn't even started the investigation yet. She sighed and looked around the room. She was in no mood to discuss the case. She had simply told Mulder that she'd see him in the morning. Walking over to the bedside table, she reached for the lamp there and flicked it on. After one look to the bed, she decided she'd sit for a minute before retiring completely. It was only when she sat on it that the mattress seemed to collapse underneath her. She tried to support herself when she came back up again. she thought, trying it again. ============== Fox Mulder shut the door with his foot and tossed his bags onto the bed. Man, the flight had been a complete hassle. All he wanted to do, was take a hot shower and go to bed. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his bags bobbing up and down. He frowned and walked over. He placed his fingers on the mattress and pressed down. He smiled. Well, this case wasn't going to be a total waste of time. ============= Scully was lying spread-eagle on her stomach, taking full advantage of the queen-sized bed. A wide grin spread across her face. She had changed a few minutes ago, and was now enjoying the euphoria that the waterbed provided. She pushed her feet into the mattress just to set off a few waves and smiled again. ============= 12:30am ============= Mulder turned over onto his stomach and pulled a pillow under his head. It wasn't all that bad. At least he'd get a good night's sleep before the investigation started. Shifting slightly, he felt something cool creep its way along his thigh. He moved again, but it simply followed him. "What the hell..." He rolled to the side and ran his hand along the bottom sheet of the bed. The cold was coming from the mattress. It was leaking. He ran a hand over his face. "Oh, just perfect." He slipped out of bed and slid on a dry pair of jogging pants; not bothering with a shirt. He opened his door and walked out into the hallway. he thought, a hand at his chin. ============= Dana sighed and turned onto her side, relishing in the undulations of the mattress. They seemed to help her fall asleep. She just began to drift off again when there was a sudden knock at the door. Scully grimaced. "Yeah?" came her response, muffled by the pillows. She didn't move a muscle. "It's me Scully," Mulder said from the hallway. Dana groaned. "Of course it's you," she mumbled. "It's always you." She sighed and rubbed her face with her hand. "Hold on a minute," she called. She slipped out of the warm confines of the bed, leaving it sloshing around for a second. She staggered to the door and opened it; a hand running through her hair. The man standing before her smiled. "Hi," he said. "What's the matter?" she asked. She didn't want the door to be open very long. It was kind of cold and the tank top and shorts she was wearing weren't giving her much insulation. He held his bottom lip between his teeth. "I was wondering what size your bed was." She raised an eyebrow. "Why?" she asked suspisciously. "Mine's sprung a leak," he told her. "I was wondering if I could bunk with you for the night until it's fixed." She sighed. she thought. "Fine," she said, turning back to the bed. "I don't care. But if you try to pull anything, I will not be held responsible for what may happen." "I'll be a perfect gentleman," he said, closing the door behind him. Scully stifled a laugh. "I'm sure." ============= Fox maneuvered himself into the bed as slowly as he could. Scully crawled in on the the right side and made herself comfortable. The bed moved slightly under their weight. Settling down finally, he stared at ceiling. It was somewhat awkward, the two of them lying in bed together. Mulder was very careful that he didn't make any kind of contact with Scully in fear he may lose something. It was as if there was an invisible field in between them. Scully turned over onto her back and sighed, brushing her arm against his. she thought. She started humming softly. Mulder thought. He smiled, chuckling inwardly and joined her. When she heard his voice, she stopped and stared at him. Feeling her gaze, he looked at her silently. "Mulder, what are you doing?" she asked annoyed. "I'm trying to sleep here." There were a few moments of silence before his apology. "Sorry." ============ Mulder had finally managed to fall asleep. However, Scully was wide awake and plotting... --He was on the ocean... In a fishing trawler... Suddenly, black clouds started to loom overhead... There was a flash of lighting and the wind picked up speed... It was then, that the boat started rocking violently...-- His eyes flew open and he realized he was in the hotel... but he was still rocking violently. Then he heard a helicopter... no... not a helicopter... wait, yes it was... but it coming from his partner. When she spoke, it didn't sound like her at all. "This is Weatherman Bob flying over the Gulf of Mexico. Apparently Hurricane Dana has picked up speed over the last few hours and is heading towards Houston. We are asking all residents to evacuate the area..." he thought. He frowned and watched her. Oh, it was a sight to behold. "The Coast Guard is in the midst of rescuing a couple in the Gulf... We repeat, Hurricane Dana is heading in Houston's way, we ask all citizens to evacuate immediately." Suddenly, her voice chaged pitch. "Warning! Warning! Warning! Warning!" She began flailing her arms, creating violent undulating in the bed, sending Mulder back and forth. He gripped the side of the bed to keep himself on it. he thought. "Warning! Warning! Warning! Warning!" He suddenly felt her hands on his side. "Scully--" he started to say, but she shoved him over the side of the side of the bed. He landed with a soft thud. She cupped hands around her mouth and shouted: "Man overboard!" and grabbed one of the pillows from the bed and tossed it at him. Then she was silent. She turned over and laid on her stomach again; repeating the position she was in before Mulder interrupted her earlier. Mulder held the pillow against his chest; completely bewildered to what just happened. He sighed and stuffed the pillow under his head; his arms crossed. he asked himself. The two of them were silent. Mulder stared at the ceiling, waiting to either fall asleep, or get hit with another pillow. He frowned. "You know Scully," he said. "If you didn't want me in your bed, you could have just said so." Dana simply smiled. ================ THE END September 29, 1996 ================ "Ocean wind --- making me shiver Making me come alive." --The Northern Pikes -- "Let's Pretend" ???Part 2 anyone???
