Feedback: PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! -down on my knees- Authors Note's: OK, this was weird. I just got this picture of Scully giving Mulder a chart note as a present for Valentines Day to reassure him that she's still ok. THANK YOU ALL who told me what her cancer is! I had an impossible time looking for it. Also, I took poetic license with this particular H&P so if any of you belong to medicine; keep an open mind to my manipulation, as it is I think I put to much info. Thanks Laura! Dr. Regina Anderson Oncology ****************************** Mulder hands the report back to me, our hands briefly brushing at the exchange. He wanders away without a response; maybe to absorb the information. As for me, I tuck the report into my chart and thank the nurse politely. When I look across the room for him I find him staring at the gold fish in the small bowl on the counter of the registration desk. His head is bowed slightly, his gaze so intent that he does not hear me walk to his side. I touch him, lightly resting my hand on his forearm letting him know I am beside him. "I'm ready to go." He nods, stepping back slightly. The heels of my shoes click against the hard floor, my feet taking me and Mulder away from the antiseptic smell of the hospital. Then I feel the warmth of his hand against the small of my back. I had wondered briefly if he would acknowledge my reassurance. We walk to the car his hand touching me, guiding me through the halls in this institution. Our gait is in unison as we walk through the traffic and enter the parking garage. When we reach the car I realize that he still has not left my side to go to the driver's side. Mulder does not usually open the car door for me, but this time he does. I nod my head in thanks when he finishes tucking me into the Taurus. I feel fragile when he handles me with extra care. The feminine side of me likes this, but the strong capable part wants to stand on alone, without help. Mulder has slipped into the driver seat; the slam of the door is loud in our silence. The key has been inserted into the ignition, waiting for a hand to turn it over and start the engine. Thirty seconds may have passed, possibly several minutes. We are still in the parking garage, sitting, not speaking. "Happy Valentines Day Mulder." I give him my smile. He solemnly smiles back. His beautiful soul peering at me through those magnificent shining eyes take my breath away. His body shifts and moves closer, facing me. He takes my hand in his larger hand bringing his cheek close, rubbing it against my palm. The slight stubble tickles my palm; my fingers curve to conform against his face. Then both his hands are holding my little paw against his cheek, cradling it before his head turns and his lips and nose are nuzzled into my hand. I can feel his hot breath when he mumbles. "Yes. It's been a happy valentines day." Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
