In the background, a song plays, it's chord structure 1- 5 1 4-- 9-- 4--- 5- 1--, brings him back to a different time... ".. in conclusion, it seems that by following the strategy mentioned at the last meeting, this would explain why this case occurred," said his partner Belinda. "Oh, I'm sorry, I missed most of what you said," said David. He realized that this might hurt most women's feelings, but he went on to explain... "that song that played through the tape, it made me daydream..." "Yes, I know, it made me too. Remember that summer." It was the summer of '89 just a normal summer. David and Belinda bought some new tapes and CD's to play on his CD, tape, radio, and shortwave portable boombox. Also, David showed Belinda one his first translations to a different machine of a new program... Belinda was wearing white shorts, the summer had been cool so she did not have a chance to become tan... In fact, another woman was made David chose Belinda to share his dream with, she said "Belinda, you look awful pale..." Belinda let it pass, and beamed with David's support and love of her. Later that week, a new item came that would affect everybody.... Somewhere in the Persian Gulf, Kuwait, someone had invaded that country.... --- An office in 1989 --- "Don't worry about that invasion, we'll have them out of there in a month, nobody messes with...", said one of the co-workers. Later that day, David had a meeting with a vendor. Over the years, they worked together, they also became friends. "My brother was selected to solve that Kuwait thing, we are all round of him," said the vendor. --- 2000 --- David and Belinda are thinking about the Gulf War and the various books that I have been written by them. One book that was written on another war, "My Father, My Son" showed him the compassion and senior leadership that he wished he had seen during the Gulf war... "Dave, the main thing is that the word is getting out. Also, it is important to be always able to sing and dance... Remember, how we dance to Belinda's album?" David remembers that album, the picture and light green cover... Eventhough, it is a tape, he still thinks of it as album -- he was always a tape man, the main reason is that he could play it in his car when he commuted and sing to it... --- later in 1989 --- The situation in Kuwait needed more action, the operation was changed from "Desert Shield" to "Desert Storm" David met with a vendor for a routine visit. "Dave, my brother is glad he is over there defending the country... We thought it would be done with by now...", said the vendor. "Well, the main thing is that they have multi nation support, let's hope for the best and we here are doing are all." The site were David worked had become a civilian military supply site for medical supplies.... Also, as various people who worked at the site in the reserves were sent and returned, they told us of some of thing they saw... --- 2000 ---- "Belinda, I am happy to see that the word is getting out. Maybe more the truth will be known..." Belinda was happy that David wa confiding in her. ---- 2000 Washington, D.C. ---- Mulder and Scully are studying some old x-file cases. In their studies, they notice some references to the Gulf war, and the video game mentality. Also, there is a reference to a certain program where the video game news items allowed one to make a docket (exact time of which thing would explode)... "It's odd that these people who never met each other, would mention the same thing," said Scully? "Yes, very odd, I wonder what --- would say about this." --- Spring 1990 --- David met with his friend/vendor for a routine visit. They worked on the items that they had planned. During this work, his friend mentioned that when his brother returned from service, someone else was assigned to his job, and he had to starting looking for a new job, "What a way for the country to reward those who served," said the vendor. David thought about this too. Also, he had also heard that some ailments were not being treated -- it was almost similar to what had happened to the agent orange veterans in the one book he read... The denial, the stonewalling, the party games... --- 2000 Washington, DC --- Mulder and Scully are linking the data together. As part of the linking they are visiting the Gulf war web sites to learn the truth... --- 2000 In the USA --- David and Belinda are glad that this time, there is a voice to get the truth out. Also, they are happy that advertising does not make everyone mind's up... They are listening to the the album that both love... In a way, the spirit of that the music album is what both think changed after the Gulf war... What would have happened if that album spirit could have continued with more artist rather than just Belinda??? What would have happened if someone else would have been elected at that time???
