Produced by Doug Grau and Russ Taff. and is written by Karen Stanley and Gary Harrison. Please no sueing., I am just a little ol' High School student. I am constantly broke. meaning I have no money. you can archieve anywhere I guess. just as long as my name, story, disclaimer, and e-mail address stays with it. On with the story. "WALK THROUGH FIRE" By: Dana Large Mulder and Scully just got back from a case and Mulder is acting a little strange. Scully has just started noticing when he does not show up at work. Skinner calls Scully into his office. "Agent Scully, what is wrong with Agent Mulder?" stated Skinner. "I don't know, sir. Why?" "Well he called me up late last night just to beg me into giving him a day off. I finally agreed to it just so that I could return to sleep. But when I asked him what he needed it for. he simply stated that I would surly find out soon enough." "Since you gave Mulder a day off, do you think that I could have one off as well so that maybe I can try to figure out why he is acting like this." "Yes Agent Scully. You can have one off as well." "Is that all? sir?" "Yes it is. you are dismissed" "Thank-you sir." Later on the phone with her mother "mom, Mulder has been acting really weird lately." "Dana, I am sure that Fox has his reasons." "I know but ever since that last case that we were on. well. it just seems to me that he is hiding something from me." "I'm sure its nothing serious. But Dana I got to go. I am almost late for my hair appointment." "alright, mom, talk to you later." "Bye" "Bye" Meanwhile at the local jewley store. Mulder is looking around frantically. "umm, Can I help you sir?" stated the sales person. "yes, Do you have any nice engagement rings?" "yes, as a matter of fact we do. right over here sir. Is there a particular style you are looking for?" "not really" "well, then how about this one?" he shows Mulder a simple cheap plain ring. "you can have something engraved on it if you like." "No, too plain. Can you engrave anything on this one?" he shows sales rep a ring with rubies and diamonds embedded into the band. "umm, no. that one as you can see has the gems all the way around it." "well, I'll take this one anyway." "cash, check, or credit sir?" "credit" Mulder holds out credit card. The sales person takes the card and made the sale. "Thank you sir. and please come again." The next morning 'man, won't Scully be surprised' thought Mulder as he drove up in front of Scully's apartment building. He then got out of his car and walked up to her door and constantly banged on her door. "I'm coming!" yelled a frustrated Scully. She was getting extremely annoyed at whoever was banging on her door. She opens it up only to find her partner standing in her doorway. "oh, its you." "good, morning sunshine. your in a good mood." "what are you doing here?" "I thought that I would give you a ride to work today" 'so that you can't run off later' he thought. "oh" "you ready?" "yeah sure. let's go." She grabs her jacket, locks her door and gets into Mulders car. On the way there "Mulder, are you feeling alright?" "yup, couldn't be better." "you sure." "yup. why?" "well you have been acting a tad bit strange even for you." Mulder starts to fidget in his seat. "well, it , was, umm, just, umm, stress, yeah stress from work." "alright if you say so." J. Edgar Hoover FBI Building Mulder opens up the door so that Scully could enter the building first. Mulder is starting to sweat, while he starts to finger the ring in side of his pocket. "Mulder, no more games. What is wrong?" Scully steps into Doctor mode after noticing Mulder's sweating problem that he has just now developed. "Nothing, I swear." Middle of the J. Edgar Hoover FBI Building Mulder all of a sudden drops down on one knee. "Mulder, what are you doing?" "Something that I should have done a long time ago." At this point they have been noticed and a big group of fellow agents gather around trying to figure out what is going on. "Mulder this is getting embarrassing. Can you get up now." "alright, here it goes. Dana Katherine Scully will you marry me?" he is staring up at her while the group of agents are wide eyed and jaws open. "Mulder what did you just say?" Mulder coughs and then starts singing not caring about the other agents watching or hearing. " You were the one, I've wanted all my life. I've waited for so long. No one has ever made me feel so right. My love for you is so strong. I would walk through fire, just to be close to you. I'd crawl right down to the wire, I'd do whatever I had to do. Dana Katherine Scully will you marry me?" Mulder stated simply. He gives her one of his famous little boy grins. "yes, yes Mulder I will marry you." Mulder got up and they hugged each other like there was no tomorrow. She started to break down in tears. Everyone else who had just witnessed this happy little moment started smiling and applauding. When they finally broke apart from the embrace Mulder reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring. He then placed it on her finger. "I love you Dana" "I love you to Mulder" "From now on you can just call me Fox alright." "alright, Fox. I still love you." With that they broke into another embrace. only this time they realized that no matter what happened. This was their destiny and that their souls would be together always.
