For a moment, Walter Skinner couldn't make his brain wrap itself around the concept. Then-- "You're sure?!" Between the giggles now coming from the bed, Skinner could hear a contented, "Yes, Walter. We're pregnant." With a whoop of joy, Skinner was on the bed, wrapping his lover in his arms. Then-- His arms dropped like dead weights. "Oh, God. We're dead. _I'm_ dead. I'll be fired the moment they find out, Dana." She nodded sadly. "No fraternization with agents you supervise. I know. But we took the chance because we knew nothing would come of it." Skinner paced the hospital room, thinking madly. He came to an abrupt halt as the perfect solution hit him. Spinning back to Dana, he suggested, "Let folks assume that Mulder's the father. If he's not back in four months, I'll step forward and offer to marry you so the child is legal." It took Dana less than ten seconds to agree. And they all lived happily ever after. Except Mulder, but that's another story.
