You speak to me in the middle of the night.  Through the 
cheap motel wall that separates our rooms, I can 
hear you.   

It's a gentle humming.  Buzzing.  Vibrating sound waves 
on a frequency only I can hear.  

You love me, you say.  You need me.  You want me.  I 
believe.  Right at this very moment, everything is good 
in the world.  The truth is right in front of us, and we 
both see it, know it.  We are it.  

And so I dream.  I dream of you here with me.  Until the 
first rays of light in the sky, I'll be holding you tight.  
And there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be than here, 
in this room, dreaming about you and me.

Because, like knowing truths as inevitable as north and 
south and east and west, I know that someday, I won't 
have to dream anymore.   

That day will come.  I'll be waiting.

I wouldn't dream of it.  This is the only place I belong.
With you, traveling the roads of America day in and day
out, searching for answers to long-asked questions.  You
are the only one for me, the only one in my life.  Forever
I will stay by your side, as you will stay by mine.

As so now, as I lie here, thinking and dreaming about 
you, I know that someday I won't need to dream.  Like a 
wave meeting the sand so naturally, we will be together.  

That day will come.  I'll be waiting.
